It has been two days since we started traveling through this wasteland. Zephyr has grown much stronger than before and has been a great help in fighting monsters.
He is a rare slime indeed, not hesitating to fight other space slimes and even understanding my commands.
I believe this is due to the monsters I feed him, as he has absorbed some of their abilities.
I feel incredibly lucky to have Zephyr by my side.
Even small monsters can awaken, and I hope that one day I can awaken as well.
"Zephyr, look, there's a huge spacecraft! Let's check it out," I exclaimed.
"Squish, squish!" Zephyr replied excitedly.
As we explored the interior of the spacecraft, we discovered many useless parts, expired canned food, rusty swords, and non-functional guns.
It seemed that someone had already looted the place, leaving behind only trash.
Disappointed, I went to the cockpit in the hopes of finding something valuable, but to no avail.
"Nothing of value here," I sighed.
However, Zephyr suddenly seemed to have found something.
"What is it, Zephyr? Did you find something?" I asked.
"Squish, squish!" Zephyr replied enthusiastically.
Curious, I used my sword to carefully pry open a wall, and a gauntlet with a shining stone in the middle fell out.
"What's this? A gauntlet weapon? I hope it's valuable. Relic collectors might be interested since it's from the era of the first war," I thought out loud.
Deciding to try it on for size, I put the gauntlet on my left hand. It felt good, but I didn't know how to use it. As I was about to take it off, I heard a strange beeping sound.
"What the heck is that?" I wondered aloud.
Then, suddenly, I felt something pierce my hand, and my blood started to drip onto the floor.
"What's happening? How do I remove it? I'm losing so much blood, I might die!" I panicked.
Zephyr looked at me with a worried expression on its face.
As I lost consciousness, I couldn't help but think, "Is this how it ends for me?"
[Beep]
As I slowly regained my consciousness, I tried to remember what happened before I blacked out.
I recalled the gauntlet I found on the spaceship, and how it seemed to have some kind of strange power. And then, I remembered the piercing pain in my hand, and how I had lost so much blood. But how was I still alive?
That's when I looked around, trying to make sense of my surroundings. It was a completely white space, and there seemed to be no walls or ceiling. I was standing on what felt like solid ground, but it was difficult to tell for sure. It was only then that I realized the beeping sound was coming from a small device on my wrist, which seemed to have appeared out of nowhere.
"What is this thing?" I muttered to myself, still dazed and confused. The device suddenly emitted a bright flash of light, blinding me momentarily. When the light faded, a message appeared on the device's screen:
[Beep]
The prompt appeared again, interrupting my thoughts.
[Welcome to the system territory, host]
"What does that even mean?" I muttered to myself, still trying to make sense of the situation.
I stared at the message in disbelief, trying to understand what it meant. And then, it hit me - was this what had caused me to black out? Had I finally awakened some kind of ability?
[Beep]
[The system has successfully bound to the host's DNA. Please proceed to the next stage of the initialization process.]
I felt a sharp pain in my hand and looked down to see the gauntlet still attached to it. The shinning stone in the middle was pulsing with an eerie light.
"What is happening to me?" I wondered out loud.
[Beep]
[The system initialization process is now complete. Host Race: Human]
Just then, a holographic display appeared in front of me, showing various options and settings.
[Beep]
[Do you want to learn how to use the system?] Yes / No
The prompt on the holographic display was clear, but the options presented to me were daunting. I had no idea what the system was or how to use it, but I knew that I needed to learn if I was going to survive in this strange new world.
After a moment of hesitation, I selected "Yes" and the display changed, showing me a tutorial on how to navigate and use the various functions of the system.
As I followed along with the tutorial, I began to understand the power and potential that the system held. With each new skill and attribute point I assigned, I felt myself growing stronger and more capable.
And then, as I completed the tutorial, a new status appeared on the display:
[The system tutorial process is now complete. Host status: Transcendent]
"Transcendent?" I repeated, trying to make sense of the unfamiliar term. As I looked around the white space, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement mixed with fear. What kind of world had I stumbled upon?
