LAMBERT'S POV
Occasionally, my eyes would shoot at her side as we drove away. Quite funny as she was wrapped at the side of the vehicle as it made its way through the lonely road.
Actually, we had the liberty of time to wait on her, to at the very least, get healed. It took a while as I had to take her first to her home in my arms, naked. This was really funny but then, it was nighttime when we returned and we werewolves made certain to carry spare clothing just in case we damage the one we are on. Think about it as we visited the boutique for more weeks than humans did.
"Get a blanket." I had told her stepfather when I got back as I bore her in my arms.
He was nervous but obeyed as he rushed to return with a blanket. I frowned at him when he returned and passed it to me before commanding him to set it over the long couch. He did as he was told after tendering an apology and laid her on it. I made certain that she was lying on her good side before turning to him.
"Why is her wound taking too long to heal?"
He shivered all over.
"No idea, sir." He said.
"Was it the same with her mother?" I asked him.
"No, sir. She had such a short time with me after her cancer attack." He said.
Cancer is one disease we all shared in common with humans. It feasted on us just as badly as it feasted on them. I turned to look at the brave young woman that had tried to stand up to me. I was proud of myself that I had found her, which meant that my son would have her heart combined with mine. I truly had found myself the absolute perfect match, and I was glad I did so.
I waited patiently and it took a really long time for her wound to heal, which bothered me. I would find out from the royal counselor when I returned to the pack house.
Only when her wound had healed up to the last tiny slit did I fully wrap her with the blanket and left the house. Of course, I left with the document and warned her stepfather to behave himself. This was how we found ourselves on the road and into the night.
She suddenly groaned hard as she sat up, coming into full wakefulness.
"Where am I?" She muttered weakly.
"With me, of course," I said, and she turned startled at me.
Clearly, for a moment after she had woken up, she might have forgotten that she was with me as she suddenly turned to me with her eyes drawn into slits. I smiled at her.
"You." She said to me, eyeing me with both disgust and disdain.
"That's no way to look at the man that is to be your contract husband," I said to her,
"Contract husband? I never signed the document." She said, suddenly getting filled with energy.
"Oh, but you will definitely sign them. Only a matter of time before you do." I said to her,
"What makes you think I would?" She demanded angrily.
I scoffed as I turned to the little compartment in the car and fished out a pen. I turned to her as I handed it to her. She looked at me first and then at the pen before eyeing it as a thought probably flashed through her mind. I could have sworn that she was thinking of taking the pen and stabbing me with it, but then, I braced myself and made ready to dodge just in case she did. Luckily, she made no such move. The time in the forest must have taught her a lesson not to defy an alpha.
"Why are you hesitating? Take the damn pen." I said to her,
"I have no wish of signing. What's the second option?" She asked me.
I smiled.
"Nothing much, really. I'll simply put you to work with the rest of the women who work their bills off for me. That's, of course, after burying silver in your heart area just to weaken your werewolf abilities. In fact, let me have that sorted out." I said as I turned to the driver. "Alfredo, what do you say we stop at the whore house and..."
I was beginning to say to the driver when her eyes widened.
"Fine." She said as she rushed and took both the document and pen off my hands.
I smiled triumphantly as I watched her append her signature on the document without going through the rest. I smiled mischievously as it was bound to be a fun time. She finished and passed it to me as I took them from her.
"There now. That wasn't so hard, was it?" I asked her as I put them away safely in the compartment.
"Now what?" She asked me.
"Now, we get home and prepare for our wedding in two days," I said to her,
"Two days?" She said, widening her mouth. Her eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.
"Yes, two days. You did not think I was about to delay the whole arrangement for anything now, did you?" I asked her.
"Is that how desperate you are?" She asked me.
"Well, what can I say for myself? A man's got to do what a man's got to do." I said to her,
"And you believe that whatever a man should do has anything to do with kidnapping innocent and unsuspecting weak women?" She dared to ask me.
I could have laughed this part off hard as it did not make sense to me that she would think of herself as a weak woman. That had to be the funniest thing I had ever heard.
"Now, come on, dear. I did not kidnap you, did I?" I asked her to put up an innocent face.
"Then what is this?" She asked me, frowning.
"You are here, by contract." I declared to her.
She probably could not believe her ears, but she turned away from me and looked forward. She had caught the whiff of reasoning as to why no one actually argued with me successfully, and I felt triumph. The driver drove us all the way home, as I highlighted from the car. She remained there as if she was totally stunned, and I frowned lightly.
"What's it, coming down or not?" I asked her.
Tentatively, she started down from the car while I walked into the house. I sent for the head maid, whom I started dishing instructions out to as regards to her. I had thought she would have been asleep by now but was awake because she came to my office almost immediately after I called for her.
"Yes, Sir." The woman said to me,
"Good. Now, you just follow her, Miranda. I shall see you tomorrow to discuss some female stuff." I said to her,
"But..." She began, but I spared her no second glance as I started away from her and made my way to my bedroom.
When I entered the room, I saw her asleep in my bed. I removed my shoes and removed my clothes before bed with her. The moment I climbed the bed, she turned over to me with a smile, although her eyes were still closed.
"Hmmm, you reek of the woods." She said,
I smiled and kissed her squarely on the lips.
"Thought you loved the scent of the woods, Jessica," I said to her,
"Yes, but...hold up. Is that a feminine scent?" She demanded as she suddenly sat up.
I blinked.
"I found her, Jessie," I said.
"Found who?" She demanded, pretty much angry now.
"The one," I said.
She glared at me, displeased.
