Chapter 418 - Betrayal's Whisper

(AUTHOR'S NOTE: I WANT MY READERS TO UNDERSTAND. THERE ARE TWO GARY IN THIS BOOK. ONE IS A VAMPIRE LEADER AND THE OTHER A ROYAL KNIGHT GUARD. JUST LIKE THERE WERE TWO BENJAMIN'S)

***

In a Planet where the sun never sets. It was dark through out from the start of the year to the end. It was none other than the Vampire Settlement.

The King Modred/Nathan Nightshade was with the other Ten Leaders, each of them sitting in their seats, waiting for the King to start the meeting.

At each corner of the room, there were torches, it wasn't necessary, but the Vampires saw it as a tradition. The King's chair was more elevated than the rest.

The King had his right hand placed on his chin and he had been quiet the entire time. The others in the room didn't start the meeting as the King was the one who is supposed to start it. Starting it without his permission would be disrespectful.

Finally, the sound of the doors opening could be heard and in came Gary. His armour was stained with blood, his own blood. His armour had several bruises here and there, although his skin was completely healed from the outside, his mental and inner injuries would take some time to heal.

Gary had informed the council about five hours earlier before this meeting. He informed them of what had happened in Fort Valor Military Academy. The King wanted to hear everything from him again.

Gary stood by the King's right side after bowing down, he coughed twice, each time a little speck of blood would leave his mouth.

"Haven't you taken blood yet?" The King asked, a bit irritated.

"No, I haven't, my King," Gary said, respectfully, "I would immediately after this meeting."

"So, what do you think you still have to tell the council?" The King asked Gary.

Gary looked at each and everyone in the room, "I believe there is a traitor in our midst."

"A traitor?"

"What the hell is he talking about?"

"Who would do that?"

"Maybe it is because he got beaten?"

"No!" Gary shouted, making all the leaders stop what they were murmuring instantly. The leaders wanted to retaliate, but the King was calm, so they decided to let it past.

"Why do you think there is a traitor?" The King asked softly. The King had the fear that maybe he was the one Gary was referring to as the traitor - his daughter; a Dhampir was a treat to the Vampire Settlement.

"His weapons were like ours... No it was powerful..." Gary said remembering the fight scenes, "Someone thought him how to use those beast crystal."

"How do you think they would even get their hands on beasts in the first place?" One of the Vampire leaders asked.

"That's one of the reasons why I say there is a traitor here. But who could it be?" Gary said, trying to listen to everyone's heartbeat.

"This is stupid... Why don't we just find the Dhampirs and end them." A Vampire leader who also beared the name Gary Rafe said standing up.

"Then we would put the entire settlement in danger." The King said hitting his fists on the table angrily. It's been more than a century that the Vampires ever felt threatned by anything and it was totally strange. "Based on what we know, the Dhampirs are not one... At least that is what they told Arthur and I am relying on it."

"We need to make sure that nothing enters this castle at all cost, The Vampires lives matters the most." The King continued. "If there are many Dhampirs we would have to find them and kill them before anything escalates."

The King then stood up instantly and said in a loud voice: "this is a warning to any traitor here, We would kill you if we find out that you helped a Dhampir."

'Why do I also feel guilty.' The King thought to himself as he sat down on his seat. He had a Dhampir daughter hidden from the entire settlement and now he felt like he was also a bad person, he always obeyed the rules and followed them strictly, but whenever it came to this... His daughter, he always had a soft spot for her... No father who loves his daughter would want her dead? That's the question that he always asks himself whenever that 'traitor' thought crosses his mind.

"That's not all my King," Gary said, "there is more."

"It's about Noah, I believe Noah is dead. He sent me a message before his death. I am sorry, I can't play that message to any of you but the King," Gary said, "As for who killed Noah... It's Alex Justin."

***

One Hour Later...

"So you are sure?" The King asked clenching his fists in anger.

"Yes, my King and I have this as proof." Gary said bringing out a phone like device. Gary pressed the center of the device, and these words played:

"Hey, It's Noah... I hope you see this message... If you do, please make sure you send it to the King. Alex isn't a normal Vampire. He is able to do something we all can't. He has changed, I don't know how he did it but lastly... He tried to kill Catherine; The King's Daughter. Send this message to the King once you see it."

The King clenched his fists more agressively and said, "Punishment is due!"
