"What!" Alex said in shock. "Are you crazy?"
Alex could see Miller's state. Miller had told him about his Killer Mode problem and how he was getting weaker and weaker. Alex was scared that he might likely kill Miller if he fights him.
On the other hand, Miller didn't even believe that he could fight Alex, not much of defeating him. The System had told him that defeating him would be the key to levelling up. The real reason why Miller didn't continue teaching Alex was because. He didn't want Alex to grow so strong that he didn't have a chance and besides his killer mode was approaching rapidly
Miller wasn't by any chance jealous. Or didn't want Alex to get stronger. He just wants to defeat him for the moment because of the instant level up.
Watson had stood up from where he was sitting. He knew why Miller asked Alex to fight him.
"Alex, Miller really does need your help," Watson said, putting his right hand on Alex's shoulder.
Alex turned and looked at him a little confused. This was a tricky part. This was the part that had not been told to Alex. Alex knew of the System. He had no clue of quests assigned to Miller by the System.
"I think. Miller would be the one to explain this." Watson said.
Miller turned to Alex, his expression solemn. "If i am able to defeat you, i will receive an instant Level up from the System."
"If I'm able to defeat you, I'll be able to level up and solve the Killer Mode problem, making everyone safe." Miller concluded.
Alex chuckled a bit. From what Miller said it was like it was some kind of game stuck inside his head.
"So what. It was some kind of game." Alex said.
But Immediately Alex mood changed as he thought of something else.
'The reason why he was teaching me all along.' Alex thought.
"So this was the reason you were teaching me all along." Alex said in anger. "Just so that you could defeat me."
"So i was being used as a tool" Alex concluded.
"You're not a tool, Alex," Miller said, his voice filled with sincerity. "I would never treat you like that. I was just trying to help you become the best version of yourself, and to protect those around you. I know that sometimes my methods may seem harsh, but I only have your best interests at heart."
He paused, then added, "I hope you can understand that."
Alex looked at Miller, his expression softening. "I do understand, and I'm sorry for jumping to conclusions.
"Understood." Miller said and he later looked at Watson and said. "Can you give us some space."
Watson nodded and went back to sit on his bed.
The two boys got into a fighting stance. "You shouldn't hold back. But don't try to kill me." Miller said.
Alex Chuckled and said: "Why would I. You are my friend."
Miller smiled. This was the first time Alex had used the word friend on them.
"Just remember, you can control the density." Miller said. "Rage also increases the density. So be careful."
The two of them were in a fighting stance. No one had made the move.
"Oh," Watson complained. "Who is going to make the first move?"
Watson wanted to see the two of them perform right in front of his eyes.
Alex now dashed towards Miller and sent a punch to Miller's face. Miller dodged the blow by moving backwards and sent his right leg for a kick to Alex's face.
GRIP!
Alex grabbed his leg and threw him to the floor.
With Miller on the floor, Alex had the advantage, but he hesitated. He didn't want to hurt his friend, even if this was to him - an exercise. But Miller wasn't going to let him off easy.
With a quick movement, Miller swept Alex's leg with his own, sending him tumbling to the ground. Now it was his turn to be on the offensive. He jumped to his feet and went for a punch.
But Alex was quick. He rolled to the side and avoided the blow, then sprang back to his feet. The two boys circled each other, looking for an opening.
With a sudden burst of speed, Miller closed the gap between them and threw a flurry of punches. Alex did his best to block and dodge, but he couldn't keep up. One punch landed squarely on his jaw, sending him reeling.
Miller pressed his advantage, unleashing a barrage of kicks and punches. Alex was on the defensive, desperately trying to stay on his feet. But Miller was too fast, too strong. The blows kept coming, and Alex's stamina was flagging.
"AARGH!" Alex shouted in anger as he punched Miller with so much anger.
This time Alex had Unleashed his bloody burst by rage. The blow hit Miller in the chest and caused some blood to drip from there.
Alex's anger fueled his punches, each blow hitting with more force than the last. But as he continued to pummel Miller, he noticed something strange. His attacks seemed to be taking more of a toll on himself than on his opponent. With each blow, he felt weaker and more tired, while Miller seemed to be weathering the storm with ease.
Then, suddenly, Alex realized what was happening. In his rage, he had unwittingly used his blood burst ability. His punches were fueled by his own blood, and with each hit, he was draining himself.
BANG!
Alex had delivered one last blow. Miller hit the wall of the room and then fell on the floor. Watson Immediately ran to Miller to check if he was all right.
"What's wrong with you. Do you plan on Killing him." Watson shouted at Alex with anger.
It was a mistake. Alex didn't want to do that to Miller, but during the course of their fight. He got angry because he remembered what was going to happen to his parents in the Vampire Settlement. That fueled his anger and he had punched Miller so hard.
"Miller. Miller." Watson said as he touched Miller's chest.
The wound on Miller's chest was healing. Miller opened his eyes slowly because he was now weak. He could feel it. He didn't even need the System's message to tell him.
