Chapter 235 - The System's Knowledge

Miller woke up and he realized he was on his bed. He looked at his roommates who were still both sleeping. Watson was busy snoring while Alex just slept like a dead person or maybe it was because he was a Vampire.

[HP: -500]

[HP: 3,400/256,000]

Miller was in shock at first. But he remembered what Catherine did to him last night. He could feel the pain and he could also feel how powerful she was. It really took 50,000 HP Points from his body.

"Miller, Your Killer Mode Activation is getting closer. your HP is decreasing." The System said. "I would advise you make a kill Immediately. If you go to Killer Mode, you would turn to a beast and wouldn't be able to differentiate your friends from your foe." The System said.

"I refuse to make a kill," Miller said, his voice firm and resolute. "There must be another way, a way to regain my HP without harming anybody. I won't resort to violence if there is another option."

He knew that his killer mode, was drawing closer, but he refused to give in to its allure. He believed that there was another path, a way to find his strength without resorting to bloodshed. He would fight to find that path, no matter what it took.

The System then changed the topic. "Miller, why haven't you told Alex what he is yet?" The System asked.

"Alex doesn't need to know," Miller said, his voice low and insistent. "I don't want him to know that he is a mutated vampire, that he is different from the others. I want to be his friend, not his enemy. I don't want him to be afraid of himself, or to think of himself as a monster."

He knew that the truth would change everything, and he wasn't ready for that. He wanted to keep things as they were, at least for now.

Miller then concluded: "I don't also want Alex to know what my blood is capable of. Maybe if he knows that my blood mutated him. He might call the other Vampires and I don't want to be a feast for them."

"You have nothing to worry about," the System replied, its voice calm and assured. "As Alex's Master, you can command him to keep your secret, even from himself. If you do not wish for him to know what your blood can do, he will not know. He is your minion, and his brain will accept the commands you give him, even if he does not wish to do so."

Miller felt a weight lifting from his shoulders at the System's words. He had not realized how much he had been worrying about the situation, until he felt the relief of knowing it was no longer a concern.

"Miller." The System called his name and said this words with a warning. "Alex is going to find out the truth one way or the other. i mean he is going to find out that he is a Minion."

"It would be better you tell him the truth." The System said. "His mutation is still in progress and who knows what he could become at the end. If the Vampires find out he is a Mutant. According to the current Vampire laws, he would instantly be sent to the Vampire Settlement and would be put in prison. The Vampire Leaders would try their best to control him to do their bidding because of his power. I think it would be best if you tell him what he is right now before the other Vampires find out and before it is too late."

"But how do I tell him?" Miller asked, his voice betraying his desperation. "How do I tell him that he's a minion, that I can control him without his knowledge? He'll hate me, he'll never trust me again."

"You must face your fears, Miller," the System replied, its tone gentle but firm. "You must be honest with him, and trust that he will understand. But I don't think it's advisable to tell him right away that he is a Minion. Just tell him that he is not an Ordinary Vampire and the explain what your blood did to him."

"I will try," Miller said, his voice hesitant but determined. "I will try to explain to him what has happened, to tell him what he needs to know. But I cannot promise that he will understand, that he will not be angry with me. All I can do is try, and hope for the best."

The System did not reply, but Miller felt its support, its silent encouragement. He took a deep breath, steadying himself for the difficult conversation ahead. He would tell Alex the truth.

"System, how much do you know about the Vampires?" Miller asked, his curiosity piqued. "You seem to have a lot of knowledge about them, and their laws. Where did you learn all of this?"

The System's response was immediate. "My programming includes a wealth of information about the various supernatural species, including the Vampires. I have been programmed with the knowledge of their laws and customs, as well as their history and mythology. I am here to assist you in your role as the Avatar of Astrar and to provide any information you may need."

"That's amazing," Miller said, his eyes wide with wonder. "I didn't realize that your capabilities were so extensive. It's incredible to think that you hold so much knowledge, so much history. It's like having a living library at my fingertips."

"I am glad that you find my capabilities useful," the System replied. "I am here to serve you, and to help you in any way I can. Please do not hesitate to ask me any questions or to request any information."

Immediately The System said these words. Miller felt it was the good time to ask this question. "Who is ASTRAR and what really does it mean to be the Chosen One?"

"I am not able to answer that question at this time," the System responded. "It is not yet the right time for you to know the answer. You must trust that in time, all will be revealed. For now, focus on your role as the Avatar and the work that you must do. All will become clear in time."

Miller felt a sense of frustration, but also of anticipation. He knew that the System was right, that he had to be patient. But the mystery of Astrar was still gnawing at his mind, a puzzle that he could not solve.

The System then said these words to himself with Miller not hearing: 'I am sorry Miller. I can't seem to remember much about ASTRAR and his past Avatar. Someone did this to me. Someone wiped away my Memories.'

'Miller. Please get stronger. I need your help in recovering back those forgotten memories.'
