Chapter 196 - An Alogrithim

VUMPF!

Miller was a blur. He had put all his points into his speed stats, and thus his speed was far greater than ever.

When Miller arrived at his room, he immediately shut the door behind him and went to his bed and continue enduring the pain.

His wrist was totally disfigured, and he could notice that it wasn't healing even a bit. It was a bad sign. Does this mean the System is a curse rather than a blessing?

Miller didn't understand why his Fast-Heal Ability hadn't kicked in. Even if it would take a long time to heal at least, his Fast-Heal Ability should be able to nullify the pain he feels at his wrist.

"Miller i didn't expect this to happen." The system finally spoke to Miller.

The system also was worried. It seems like something also come as a shock to the System. The System clearly knew that the Quest he gave Miller was more than Miller could have handled at the time. But he never suspected that Miller's body wouldn't heal.

The first reasoning that entered Miller's head due to him not healing was the fact that maybe because he hadn't levelled up his Fast-Heal Ability very well and it was still too low.

But that wasn't the case. The System continued speaking to Miller:

"Miller, It seems like this Level 9 has more problems than I would have thought. It seems like this Level 9 deliberately prevented your access to the Fast-Heal." The System said in a sad tone. The System that was attached in Miller's brain had gradually developed human emotions Because of this boy and now it was currently sad as well.

"Can you help me." Miller complained as more tears were still leaving his eyes slowly and gradually. He could still feel the pain on hos wrist.

"I would love to, but the truth is i can't. I just don't know why." The System replied again in a sad tone.

From another perspective it looked like the System didn't want what was best for Miller, but in reality, the System couldn't.

It wasn't like it didn't have the ability to do so. It was because it's creator had made so in his alogrithim.

Although, the System couldn't remember it's original creator. It did know one or few things about how he functioned:

"You see Miller, I am growing to Like you both as a Friend and a Partner." The System said. "Even if I don't know anything about my creator. I definitely know one thing, and that's the fact that i was created to follow a specific alogrithim."

"This Alogrithim is not known even by me until a specific situation comes, and it just gradually pops inside me."

"Whoever created me made it so. That's why I can't tell you some stuff and that's why i can't grant you Abilities until a specific level. That is why you have to gain experience points to level up and i can't cheat."

"Even i don't know all the Abilities that you would have. I don't even have a clue when this leveling would all end. I am just clueless like you."

"When you levelled up to Level 9. Some how your Fast-Heal Ability was also blocked. I didn't notice or maybe it was a negligent on my part. I thought it was maybe a cliche."

"But right now i know it's true. But there are a few things i know Miller. It's the fact that Immediately you go Killer Mode, your entire body would heal." The System concluded.

Miller didn't reply, but was just rolling on the bed and then suddenly the sound of Someone knocking the doors could be heard. Miller with his Super smell knew it was Watson Through the smell. So he went and opened the door for Watson.

Watson came into the room to comfort his friend for what happened. Watson was not happy with what had happened. He even felt guilty that he was the one who caused all this.

"I am sorry Miller." Watson said in a remorseful tone. He really felt bad for bringing up the idea that Miler should Punch the tree.

Watson truly said it as a joke, but when he saw the determined look on Miller's face. He became serious and was curious to see if Miller could really punch it.

Minutes later, the pain was now reducing, and gradually it was at a state that Miller could bear, and no tears were running from his eyes.

Miller looked at his wrist with great disdain. For a few seconds, he felt like finding a way to go Killer Mode so that he would heal his wrist would have been better. But he remembered how Killer Mode would affect those around him. How the System warned that he wouldn't know his friends.

*Knock Knock

Someone knocked on the door, and Watson went and opened it. To his surprise it was a soldier.

"Watson Simmons, you are requested to be at the principal's office Immediately." The officer commanded.

"I would be back." Watson said to Miler as he left.

Minutes later, although Miller's wrist was still disfigured, the pain had greatly reduced. So he stood up from his bed and decided he would head to Jacob's room in the Second Year Male Hostel.

'I really need to find out what happened to the Vampires.' He thought.
