Chapter 195 - A Lie

In the school garden, a hushed silence fell over the crowd as Lilian's words reverberated in the air. No one dared to laugh or scoff at her claim. Instead, they exchanged uneasy glances, their minds grappling with the implications of her revelation.

The belief in the existence of THE UNKNOWN had always lingered like an ethereal specter in the students' minds, but now, it surged to the forefront of their thoughts. Lilian's words seemed to breathe life into the mythical tales, weaving a dark and mysterious tapestry of possibilities.

Whispers spread like wildfire, the stories of THE UNKNOWN intermingling with the folklore of ancient creatures. Some spoke of werewolves prowling under the moonlit night, their eyes glowing with an otherworldly luminescence. Others mused about shapeshifters, beings capable of transforming from human to beast at will.

As the students exchanged speculative glances, they couldn't help but cast furtive glances at the broken tree, a silent testament to the raw power that had struck it down. The tree's shattered form loomed like a stark warning—a harbinger of unknown forces that lurked in the shadows, waiting to be unleashed.

In the midst of the murmurs, a few brave souls nodded in agreement with Lilian's account. Their hearts swayed by the undeniable evidence of the fallen giant. They too had felt the inexplicable chill in the air, sensed the enigmatic aura that seemed to envelope the garden.

All the people there went immediately to see the tree to have a good glance at it. In the midst of them were two females; Samantha Jones and Jessica Bennett. These two females were Werewolves and this was Unknown to everyone present.

The first thing they did was to check if they could figure out any smell that was related to their kind. Firstly, the two girls believed that this might be the works of any of those reckless boys in their park. But that didn't last long when they discovered blood.

The smell of the blood wasn't that of their kind. Although, they didn't sniff like a dog indicating they were smelling something. They were skilled at this and no one present noticed this.

The smell of the blood was something they had no clue what it belonged to. It wasn't the smell of Humans or a Werewolf or any beast they know.

The first thought that entered their heads was that this blood belonged to Miller. They didn't want to jump into conclusions.

But when they looked at the tree they found something that gave them a conclusion. Although, it wasn't noticeable, it was a sign that a Human fists had been inserted into this.

They knew whenever their creatures turned into Werewolves they mostly used claws and no one would use a fist. So this was clearly not one of their kind, It might be Miller or a hidden person in this school with powers.

Then the two of them looked at each other and just nodded. They knew what this girl had just done. This girl had just said a lie.

After confirming that their kind weren't involved, they left the scene and were ready to inform their pack leaders in this school of the situation this very night.

Emily dragged Lillian to a seperate corner. "What the hell is wrong with you, why did you have to call the Werewolves." Emily Whispered to her annoyed.

"I didn't know what to say." Lillian replied. "It was the only lie i could come up with."

Emily didn't say a word because her boyfriend was now heading back in her direction. Jason went to see the tree for himself, giving Emily and Lillian some time to talk to each other.

"I think you guys should go to your hostel. Or possibly go and meet the Anti-Meta Human Officers In this school for protection." Jason said in a concerned look.

Watson had already left the scene immediately when people started inspecting the tree. He wanted to check on how his friend was doing, and he was even blaming himself for what had happened.

"You don't have to babysit us," Emily replied in an angry tone.

Jason kept quiet for a little, even Lillian didn't understand why Emily had to reply to her boyfriend in such manner.

The truth is unknown to Lillian both Emily and Jason had gotten into an argument because of new found closeness to Miller. Emily refused to tell him why she was so interested in Miller, she just told him that Miller was special.

Jason, being a school bully, didn't bother to question Miller. Whenever he looked at Miller's face, he would always remember the day Miller beat him and his friends so easily. So instead he vetted his anger on the other weaklings in the school.

"I was just making a suggestion." Jason replied calmly.

Emily didn't reply and instead, she folded her arms and looked at another direction.

Suddenly, everyone became quiet because the school soldiers were coming. Two soldiers came into the scene and when they got their, these were the words from their mouth:

"Watson Simmons, Emily Pemberton, and Lillian Collins," the soldier said. "Those who bear these names are expected to be in the principal's office immediately to give a detailed account of what happened."
