BANG!
The loud banging sound from Miller's punch echoed throughout the entire garden, and students were now rushing to the area as they saw a big tree collapsing to the ground. The school garden was really large so it would take some time before the students finally reach the area.
Miller still facing the tree and these messages popped at his retina:
[QUEST]
[PUNCH THE TREE AS HARD AS YOU CAN IN A SINGLE STRIKE, AND MAKE IT COLLAPSE IMMEDIATELY]
[QUEST COMPLETED]
[QUEST REWARD]
[EXP: 40,000]
[QUEST REWARD GRANTED]
[EXP: 40,000/204,800]
Those words made him a little happy, but the unsuspected happen, he looked at his wrist and it had shattered.
Miller's once sturdy wrist now presented a harrowing scene of destruction. The bones, once a symphony of structure and strength, were now fractured and disjointed, creating a grotesque mosaic beneath the torn skin. Sharp fragments of bone protruded from the wounded flesh, like jagged, ivory spikes yearning for release.
The wrist, swollen and discolored, took on an eerie blend of hues—bruises of deep purples and blues surrounded the shattered mess, while patches of paleness hinted at the loss of life-sustaining blood. Crimson rivulets of blood trickled from the open wound, tracing a torturous path down Miller's trembling hand and pooling on the ground below.
Each movement, no matter how slight, sent fresh waves of agony surging through him. The pain was visceral, unyielding, and threatened to rob him of consciousness. But Miller gritted his teeth, refusing to succumb to the darkness that encroached on his vision.
His broken wrist served as a haunting reminder of the price paid for reckless ambition—the cost of seeking strength beyond his current capabilities. It was a stark lesson in humility and a testament to the frailty of his body when confronted with forces it could not bear.
Some drop of blood dripped from Miller's hand and fell on the floor. Another set of words then popped at Miller's retina:
[ALL STATS POINTS HAVE BEEN RETURNED TO THEIR DECREASING STATE]
[HP: 100,000/256,000]
It was clear that his HP was still reducing as he punched the tree. But this was when Miller noticed something, he wasn't healing, even if his healing would take time before he would heal completely, his healing usually neutralizes the pain after a few seconds. But this time nothing happened.
Someone tapped Miller. Miller turned his back and saw Emily, Lillian and Watson. Their face changed Immediately they saw Miller's broken wrist. The next words that came out of Miller's mouth, where that of cry of pain.
"Aargh...!" Miller shouted, but his mouth were now completely covered by Watson.
This was the first time in a long while that Miller had felt pain. After his encounter with the System and the System turning him into a Throsk'Bok. His Ability to endure pain was enormous and sometimes he wouldn't even know that he was injured even after the had healed completely.
But it seems like this Killer Mode Activation problem was far worse than he could have imagined. As his body grew weaker, it was clear he was feeling more like a Human than a so called Throsk'Bok.
So many tears came from Miller's eyes. The girls could see that Miller was in great pain and wanted to shout, but his friend closed his mouth with his palms.
The girls couldn't look at Miller's wrist anymore it was really really bad. Miller cried like a human child, Miller ears could pick the sound of other students rushing to the scene but that wasn't his business. The pain was overwhelming.
Watson on the other hand was feeling guilty about what he had done to his friend. If he hadn't come up with this idea, his friend wouldn't have ended up with a broken wrist. All these were his fault.
Finally, Miller tried his best to hold back his tears and the pain by bitting his lower lip with his teeth. He used his left hand to clean his eyes.
He then stood up and looked and the three and spoke to them: "Students are coming, i would urge you all to leave this place Immediately or form up a lie for them."
"Wouldn't you go to the hospital." Emily said. But she was too late. Miller had already ran out of the scene with speed.
Miller put all his stats into his speed. So when running he looked like a blur. Miller ran to his room in the First Year Students Male Hostel to try to bear the pain, but he couldn't he continued crying.
Back at the garden, so many students and workers and teachers had arrived.
"What the Hell happened here."
"Was it an attack."
"Did the unknown attack you guys?."
So many questions from people came towards them. In the midst of everyone, Jason came and gave his girlfriend a hug. A lover's hug.
"I thought something bad might have happened to you." Jason Whispered inside Emily's ears.
Emily just chuckled.
Everyone at the scene kept asking them Questions and finally Lillian spoke for all of them. Watson although was intelligent, couldn't face crowd.
Lillian spoke: "The three of us came to the garden to get some fresh air and chat, just like the other students. Out of nowhere, a werewolf suddenly appeared and attacked us, causing this tree to fall. When he scattered this tree, he ran Immediately, because he knew the sound of the tree collapsing would draw many attentions."
Watson and Emily weren't comfortable with Lilian's words. They knew she was lying. They weren't happy with the fact that she had to call a Werewolf. Miller had warned them how dangerous Werewolves are. But that was the only make-up lie she could think of and it would later cost them a lot or maybe even their lives.
