Chapter 128 - Shattered Memories

Watson's heart skipped a beat as he observed Miller's bewildered expression and heard the uncertainty in his voice. It was clear that his best friend; Miller Edward had lost his memories, and the weight of the situation bore down on Watson like a heavy burden. The room seemed to grow dimmer, the air thick with a sense of unease.

Watson's shock quickly gave way to deep concern as he moved closer to Miller, his eyes filled with compassion. He could see the frustration and confusion etched on Miller's face, mirroring the turmoil within. The realization that Miller had forgotten even his best friend name (Watson) shook Watson to the core.

"It's okay, Miller," Watson said, his voice gentle yet firm, trying to maintain a sense of reassurance despite the overwhelming circumstances. "We'll figure this out. We'll find a way to get your memories back. You're not alone in this."

Watson's words were filled with determination, an unwavering commitment to stand by his friend's side during this unsettling journey. He knew they faced an uphill battle, but he refused to let Miller face it alone.

As Watson spoke, he reached out and gently placed his hand on Miller's shoulder, offering a comforting touch. He hoped the physical connection would remind Miller that he had someone who cared deeply for him and was ready to support him through this challenging time.

"We've been through so much together, Miller," Watson continued, his voice filled with sincerity. "We'll retrace our steps, talk to people who know you, and find any clues that can help jog your memory. You're not alone in this journey. I'll be right here with you, every step of the way."

Watson's expression conveyed his unwavering loyalty and dedication. He was prepared to do whatever it took to help Miller regain his lost memories, to piece together the fragments of his identity that had been shattered. The gravity of the situation weighed heavily on Watson Simmons, but he refused to succumb to despair.

Taking a deep breath, Watson mustered a small smile, a beacon of hope amidst the uncertainty. "We'll create new memories, too," he said softly. "No matter what happens, we'll make sure that our friendship remains strong. Together, we'll overcome this."

Miller's eyes met Watson's, a flicker of recognition mixed with confusion. It was clear that the journey ahead would be arduous, filled with challenges and uncertainties. Yet, in that moment, as Watson stood by Miller's side, a glimmer of hope emerged. They would face this adversity together, drawing strength from their bond.

The room seemed to brighten ever so slightly as they forged ahead, determined to unravel the mystery behind Miller's lost memories. Watson's unwavering support and Miller's resilience would guide them through the shadows, inching closer to the truth and the restoration of what was once shattered.

The two of them left the room, Watson looked for Victor Carter in the hostel, but he couldn't find him. So instead they worked in the areas of the school trying to see if Miller's mind would come back. If it was possible for Miller to remember.

Watson took Miller to the School Cafeteria. But Miller Edward couldn't remember a thing. He didn't even remember that this was the first place he got bullied and humiliated in this school.

Watson then took him to the Library, the place they usually go to spend most of their leisure time. Miller looked at the place confused again, he couldn't remember anything. Who really did this to Watson really did a bad thing to him.

They kept on moving around the school until Watson had finally decided that they go to the Basketball Court Room.

Watson thought when Miller had entered the place, he would have a slight Memory, Miller was frustrated because everything looked like a waste of time. Nothing jogged his memory. Everything seemed strange to him.

There was a Basket Ball game today in the hall and the two of them decided to just sit one of the seats available watching the match.

"Do you know him" Watson said pointing at one boy that was about to play in the game. "That's Jason Turner, the boy who first bullied us in school."

"Wow, and who is that beautiful lady that's giving a hug?" Miller asked.

Watson wasn't happy for his friend, even at this state, his friend still had feelings for Emily.

"That's Emily Pemberton; Jason Turner's girlfriend." He said with a sigh.

"She's pretty," Miller said.

"I know" Watson replied angrily and quickly trying his best to end the unnecessary chatter.

Watson was only concerned about how Miller could get his Memories? Who did this to Him? And Why they did this to Him?

Watson had suspicions that this could be from Magic. Although Watson is really very skeptical about the supernatural. He sometimes believe it might be possible, that people with Magic really existed, but they just stayed behind the curtains from the general public.

Before Miller had arrived, Watson had gone to the School authorities earlier on. Informing them that his friend had been missing for the past Twenty four hours. The Soldiers only searched for Miller for an hour or two and then stopped. This was due to the fact that Miller was from a poor background. The School would have searched for him seriously, if Miller came from a wealthy family and his family could influence the government.

Both Watson and Miller were both poor fellow, so everyone in the school kept looking down on them.

The match had began and people were seriously cheering the place.

"Go JASON!" One of the students shouted and then others followed: "JASON! JASON! JASON!"

They shouted the name with a clap. Jason Turner is the best basketball player on the Field.

Miller also felt enticed to shout the name and also clap. From what he had seen Jason was a good player. When Miller tried to cheer along with the crowd. Watson stopped him.

"You don't have to do that" Watson said in an effort to stop Miller from doing that. Watson knew that MILLER had a great hatred for Jason. But due to Miller having forgotten all his memories for an unknown reason, he didn't have any idea of how he hated him.

Miller would sometimes look at the far end right of the Basket ball Court room looking at Emily Pemberton, who was sitting there at a bench also waving to her boyfriend. He was admiring her beauty, at thesame time he was wondering if why another guy would constantly look at him. When this guy and his eyes meet the guy would constantly look away.

The way this guy consistently looked at Miller gave him the chills.

"Who the hell is that." Miller said pointing to the unknown Boy's destination.

"That's a second year student by the name, Jacob Williams." Watson said.

"Do we know each other." Miller asked Watson.

"I honestly have no idea, you kept most things from me. So I don't know" Watson replied.

"I am so sorry. I promise if I get my memories back, I will tell you everything." Miller said with bitterness in his voice.

From what Watson had told Miller earlier on, he knew now Watson was his best friend, buy why didn't he tell his best friend everything? He knew there was a reason to this, but he didn't know why now?.

Still watching the match, a Systematic voice was heard in his head.

"Hello Miller."

Miller turned to his left and right confused, but he didn't see anyone who was talking to him at the moment.

"I am inside your head" The Systematic voice echoed again inside his brain.

"Can you hear that strange voice?" Miller asked Watson.

"Hear what?" Watson replied, confused.

"Don't worry, it's nothing" Miller said. It was like he was just hearing things that weren't present.

"Dear Miller, you have to talk to Me, if you want your memories back" The voice said after a couple of silence.

"Where the fuck are you" Miller said with his mouth.

Watson and the others looked at him confused.

"I would be right back" Miller said as he left the place and closed the doors behind him.

He held his head so tight not because of any pain but because he continued to hear the voice inside his head.

"Miller, Miller, Miller, You can't ignore Me" The voice said again.

"Who are you?" Miller asked.

"I am the System," the voice replied, its tone filled with an ethereal quality. "I am here to guide you, to assist you in reclaiming your lost memories."
