Chapter 7 - Chapter #6

//A/N: Remember that the MC here died at the age of 16 years old and was transmigrated into the body of an 8 years old boy. He doesn't really have any time to become mature and if he did so, it would be too unnatural to the people around him, at least that's what I think so... That's all, thanks for reading my fanfic.//

"That's all, class. Please prepare for your practical next week with your designated partner for your project," Prof. Cobbwell said to us as he dismissed the class.

As I was picking up my textbooks, I felt a touch on my shoulder and turned to see Gwen.

"Can I help you, Ms. Stacy?" I asked, wearing a friendly smile. She's a gorgeous, smart, and nice woman, exactly my type. But I can't afford to develop feelings for someone right now.

I can't waste my time on her. Right now, I have priorities to protect myself and my loved ones from the upcoming disasters this world will experience.

I can't allow any distractions, especially now that Peter will have an eventful year and significant events from Iron Man are supposed to occur. I need to stay vigilant since I'm not exactly in the MCU that I know of. Many events from the comics can happen here, and they are often darker than I can imagine.

I'm a one-motherf*cking paranoid man, and that's because I need...no I must become paranoid, especially in this fuck-up world.

"Oh, I just want to ask where you want to meet for our chemistry project," she said to me.

'So she's my partner, I didn't bother listening to the professor's announcement about the partners so I didn't know.' I realized.

"I see, well...how about we go to the library first, to research more about it? More info doesn't hurt?" I suggested.

"Sure...by the way, I'm sorry for staring at you awkwardly earlier... it's just, I'm honored to meet the developer of the Elements Crush, you see, for me, it's a brilliant idea," She stated to me with a look of astonishment in her eyes.

"I mean, why won't it be? You just mixed science into playable content, not only will it be a game, but it will also give its players knowledge in chemistry, and at what age did you make it again? You're still like 13 back then, that's amazing you know? I've also read Dr. Connors's paper and research about the game and he said that it's excellent and it'll help young learners in the field of chemistry." Gwen rattled on with glee, as I stood there staring at her, stupefied.

'I didn't expect this, I mean the game's not even out yet,' I thought to myself, still staring at her, wide-eyed. When she looked me in the eye, her face blushed looking abash by what she did.

"I'm sorry! I said too much! I just wanna say that it's nice to meet someone like you!" She said.

"It's fine. So... I made sure to keep those developments out of the public eye to avoid unnecessary attention. I'm curious about where you heard it, Ms. Stacy," I asked, amused by her knowledge.

"W-What do you mean? I-I mean..." She stammered, clearly nervous about my question.

I raised an eyebrow, gazing intently at her until she finally confessed.

"I—I heard it, okay? My dad's a cop, and sometimes I tamper with his work schedule to find out things. It eases my worry when he's out on duty, knowing what he's doing that day," she admitted with a guilty look.

"I found out about you because my dad has a profile of you, mentioning the event that Spec Industries will hold next year. It's about a game," she explained, providing me with the gist of how she came to know about it.

"My dad said he already hired Uncle George for security at the event, and he's the only one who knows about me other than our family. He also said I don't need to worry about Uncle George knowing my identity because he trusts him with his life," I added, piecing together how she had obtained the information, widening her eyes.

'So, the Uncle George that Pa talked about is George Stacy... I should've known. I thought what he hired was private security for the event, not the police,' I thought in realization.

"My dad's name is George Stacy. Maybe the Uncle George that you're talking about is my dad!" She exclaimed in glee, happy at my grand revelation.

"Yeah... it still doesn't excuse you for tampering with something that you shouldn't tamper with, Ms. Stacy," I thought with a mischievous smile on my face.

"No! I'll do anything, just please don't tell my dad!" She cried out with an anxious expression.

"Anything you say?" I questioned, causing her to grasp the importance of what she just said.

She gulped in nervousness, and her face reddened like a tomato while standing like an airhead, imagining things that she was not supposed to. Lewd things. Bits of sweat poured out of her forehead as they slid down her throat, causing it to glisten.

'This woman,' I thought, baffled at her unexpected reaction. How much cuter can she be? Fuck, what the... I need a mental face slap ASAP. *Pak*

"When will we start our project? Is tomorrow good?" I said to her as I picked up my bag over my shoulder, completely changing the subject with a deadpanned face.

"Ah... Anytime is fine, I think. The deadline is the last week of this semester, so no rush," she said to me as she checked her Stark Phone with her hands.

"Sure, by the way, nice to meet you again, Ms. Stac—" I said as she interjected me.

"Gwen, Gwen's fine. Can I call you Lucas?" Gwen said to me as we both stared into each other's eyes.

Deciding to tease her, I answered, "No..." She looked downtrodden by my reply as I continued.

"You can call me Luke. My friends call me that," I said as I raised my arm for a shake with a friendly smile plastered on my face.

"Nice to meet you, Luke," she said with renewed vigor as she raised her arms to shake mine.

'No relationship, just friends...' I repeated this mantra in my head while still holding her hand.

Unbeknownst to them, the gears of their fate had already started to turn, set in motion like a giant clock tower winding up for its long-awaited chime. The world around them was a chaotic mess, a storm brewing on the horizon, but they remained oblivious to the impending change that was about to descend upon them. It was a change that would alter the very course of their lives, for better or for worse, and they were powerless to stop it.

[One week later]

It's been a week now, and Peter... well, Peter had been busy. Investigating his father, working with Connors on his serum, studies, skateboarding.

MJ and I seldom saw him sometimes because he immediately goes home from school. MJ said that Peter and she will have a date tomorrow, so I guess there's that?

It happened just a while ago, you see, you know the basketball scene where Peter broke the board? Well, he did it this time too. When I asked Flash why he did that, Flash said, "I don't know, man. Pete just caught the ball when it bounced on him, he asked us if he could try to dunk, and we said yes. Then he just bulldozed his way to the ring, and bang!" Flash said with an exclamation as he continued.

"The board's old anyway, so now we have a new board," he said with a genuine smile and a thumbs

-up while moving his head back and forth.

Then Pete got detention. After the principal talked to Uncle Ben, Uncle Ben scolded Peter and saw MJ in the hallways, then embarrassed Pete by shouting, "He's got you on his computer!" Uncle Ben shouted to MJ as he continued, "I'm his probation officer."

Then Pete and MJ flirted, planned a date, and lived happily ever after... not.

...

By the way, Gwen also started hanging out with us every lunchtime. She and MJ were the best of friends. They talked about fashion things, women's things, really.

After class, Gwen and I went to the library to study for our practicals and sometimes talked about our lives, just usual friends' activities kind of stuff...

Sometimes there's an awkward moment between us. I mean, she's literally my celebrity crush in my last life, so it's kinda hard for me to talk to her. Plus, she looks so gorgeous, so there's that.

I've never had any romantic relationship in the past, so I'm a complete noob in that department. Especially talking to a beautiful woman like Gwen Stacy. Sometimes I outright avoid conversations with her because I don't know what to fucking reply. At the end of everything, dying, coming back to life, I'm still a fucking loser.

Ever since my past life, I always immediately cut off my feelings and relationships like this to avoid troublesome things from happening and making a fool out of myself.

"Hey, Luke, do y—" Gwen said but was cut off by me.

"Yes," I said immediately due to nervousness.

She's so close to me right now. There's only one book available, so we are sharing it right now, and our space is really cramped. My heart is beating so fucking fast. I don't know if it's just because I don't do well with girls other than my friends or if I'm just a simp.

"I'm not even finished yet, pfft," Gwen said, holding her laugh.

"I mean, yes, what is it?" I 'clarified' to her.

"I just want to ask why you're weird around me... MJ said that you're normally calm and collected," Gwen said solemnly while still looking at the book.

"I mean, are you uncomfortable around me? Is it because I poked into your privacy? I didn't tell anyone about it, I promise!" she added.

'No.'

"If that's the reason, then I'm sorry, oka—" Gwen said.

"No," I cut her off.

"I'm not angry at you, Gwen. It's just that..." I said in an impassive voice while looking at her. She looked at me too, and I saw her confused eyes staring back at me.

I can't say it to her.

"What?" She asked in frustration.

"It's just, I was... it's... nothing," I finished in a defeated voice while avoiding her eyes.

"Fine... keep your secrets then. I'll finish the equations at home. I'll chat with you later," she picked up her things and stormed off the library, but not before muttering something I was not able to hear.

After that conversation, I also walked out of the library and met MJ at the locker.

While we were walking in the hallways, MJ also mentioned to me that I need to remind Pete about picking up Aunt May because he will be a little busy and may forget to pick up Aunt May. I then assured MJ that I'm sure Pete will remember it and resumed our walk.

I'm at my self-modified computer right now, searching for the happenings around the globe, especially around Stark. Of course, my computer data is protected because I created a series of firewalls myself

. I'm confident that Jarvis will have a run for his money hacking this piece of tech. Suddenly, someone texted me.

Aunt May: Hello, Luke? I just want to ask if you know where Peter is. Ben and I have been waiting for him for an hour already. We're getting worried.

'Pete? It's past 10 PM already. Where did he go?' was what I thought when an epiphany bombarded my mind.

'Picking up Aunt May.'

'MJ and Pete's date.'

"Uncle Ben," I uttered in horror as I immediately wore my hoodie and shoes.

"Where are you going?" My mom asked.

"Pete has an emergency. I'll be right back," I said before opening the doorway.

"Be home immediately, okay? Be careful," she said with a worried look plastered on her face.

"I'll be fine," I said to her as I looked at her with a reassuring smile before sprinting off into the streets.
