With a loud gasp, Sylvia held her hand in front of her face in a meek attempt at defence as the burly man charged at her with murderous expressions.
Just when he was about to attack her, a shrill scream shook the air around them. He stopped to take a look to his left.
The burly man stepped back, confused and intrigued as a shadow stood in the distance, partially hidden behind the trees.
Sylvia breathed hard, waiting for an attack, but when it didn't come, she slowly moved her hand down. She noticed the confused face of the man standing before her.
She followed his gaze to see the same shadow in the distance. She squinted her eyes, trying to make sense of who might be there.
Was it Corbin?
Her heart raced at that thought in excitement, but soon that excitement died when that shadow moved, and now she could make out the outline of the silhouette.
