Sylvia was not surprised when a servant informed her that Favian wouldn't be joining her for dinner. She was surprised that Favian was so keenly interested in the search for Roger and Leo.
He was definitely a strange man!
Sylvia finished her dinner while still thinking about Corbin. Her whole perception towards things changed after their last meeting. There were very few words spoken, yet the moments they shared and that toe-curling kiss had changed many things.
Where Sylvia was exhausted with her miserable life, now she wanted to live it and hope for a better tomorrow where she could again find herself in Corbin's warmth.
Yet a voice in her head reprimanded her actions. It warned her to stop. She was again walking on the same road that she had taken with Gerald Livingstone.
In the end, fate had been so cruel to the man she loved that he lost his life. Sylvia couldn't help but blame herself for not staying with him. Maybe she could have saved his life.
