"Life can be so unpredictable," Corbin mused, his fingers never ceasing their soothing motions. "It's as if we're all walking on a tightrope, trying to balance our dreams with the reality that sometimes feels like quicksand beneath our feet."
Sylvia paused for a moment, gathering her thoughts. Depending heavily on her previous experiences with Corbin, she struck a cord she didn't expect to at this time.
"And love... it's like a distant star, isn't it? We see its light, its promise, but we're always afraid it might burn out before we can reach it."
