Sylvia winced as pain shot in her back, but not paying any heed to it, she ran for the door of the other bedroom. She didn't wait to hear the sounds coming from inside and unlocked the door.
As soon as she stepped into the room, she saw Corbin standing in front of a window, his back facing her and his shoulders moving up and down with every breath he took.
"Corbin?" She whispered her name, and the muscles in his back tensed instantly.
Sylvia heard the closing sound of the front door, and she understood that her friends had left, leaving her in privacy with Corbin. She appreciated their thoughtfulness.
"Corbin, please look at me." Sylvia advanced in his way with cautious steps. She was not afraid of him, but she was definitely worried about his anger.
She had figured out a little secret about that man, and that secret was his uncontrollable anger. For the world, Corbin was this decent and sweet gentleman who was wise and patient.
