Sylvia's heart was beating steadily as she took careful steps. She reached the spot right where she had seen the dancing shadows. She rounded, throwing careful glances in every direction but there was no one to be found.
"Hello? Is anybody out here?" She called again.
Sylvia was convinced now that her mind had messed up with her logic again. She shouldn't have left Corbin and follow her curious instincts. Now Corbin was not around, and she needed to find him first.
Sylvia sighed and took a step forward when the hair on the back of her neck stood up in alarm. She gulped as someone whispered her name in her ear.
"Sylvia"
That whisper brought cold air that pricked her skin like pointed needles. She sensed someone's presence behind her. Without wasting another moment, Sylvia swirled around only to gasp in shock.
"Corbin!"
Corbin stood there with a blank face, watching her intently.
