Green eyes stared at the owl that was sitting right before the boy's window. He looked at it with curiosity - it was probably the first owl he had ever seen. Owls were a rarity in the Muggle world and only came out when the night dawned. The boy was no older than ten years old and a scrawny kid that seemed too small for his age. Or maybe it was younger, the owl didn't know. Owls weren't the best when it came to guessing ages. The boy opened the window and slowly put his hand on the warm feathers. He smiled when the owl didn't fly away, but leaned into his touch. "You're a weird owl, aren't you?", he said and grinned. The owl shuhuhed and the boy immediately began to look around nervously. "Please be quiet", he whispered and the owl could smell his fear. "My uncle will come and beat me if he hears that I'm still up." The owl was outraged. How could a muggle dare to hit a magical child? And not any magical child, but the one and only Harry Potter? The boy with the green eyes sat down on his bed that seemed like it was about to collapse under his weight. "Look, owl, I can't get out of here. I'll just have to wait until Hogwarts starts again and then I'll be able to flee for a bit." Hogwarts? So the boy was older than ten? It seemed a bit weird to the owl that such a small boy could be a Hogwarts student but she just tilted her head in an understanding gesture. The boy sighed and crawled under his dirty duvet. "You can stay for the night if you want to. I like having company", he offered generously and the owl flew into the small room and sat on the only wardrobe. The boy got up and closed the window before he headed back into his bed. "Thanks, owl, I appreciate it.", he murmur before quickly falling asleep. If owls could smile, this one would've definitely smiled now but because owls can't smile, she just tilted her head again and decided to tell her master about this little boy. Master Malfoy would definitely help this little child.
