"Honey, you take a shower and change I will watch care here" Avril heard his mother say. He had been watching over Lina while she slept, after they got out of the forest she had finally collapsed from exhaustion.
He got her home and his mother examined her. After treating her wounds Lina fell asleep, but Avril had refused to leave her side even after his mother said she was fine.
"What if she wakes up and m not here," he said.
"She won't, walking half the day, getting lost and attacked by a bear. Trust me she's exhausted and needs to sleep to get her energy back" his mother said.
"Mother, what do I do, for the first time am so scared that am confused," he said holding her hand.
"Son, you need to know how much you are willing to give to have her in your life and if she is ready to do the same. I know it's scary when you finally find you have this new feeling that makes you the vulnerable cause of someone. But if you're sure it's what it is then you need to make sure to protect her no matter what".
"But am not worthy of it, finding someone like her who makes me feel this way. After all, I have down to finally leave this place and when am almost there, she comes in and disrupts everything" he muttered.
"Avril, you can't always control where our lives were destined to go. If she was meant to appear in your life then you could not avoid it. So now it's you to decide either to go ahead with your plans or abandon them for her" his mother said.
He sighed placing back Lina's hand and got up to face her, "I already mom, when I saw her in that dishevelled position I was so mad I forgot everything and wanted to shred it to pieces, so without holding back I let my fangs bite down into its neck and fed on it"
His mother gasped, "But your...".
"Yes I know mother, I can already feel my body change again from the moment I tasted its blood. I don't care anymore about our plans Mother, am sorry... all I want now is to be by her side" he said.
He held his hands smiling, "You don't need to apologize, honey, I understand and am happy for you that finally have something that is giving you the strength to stay alive. Am here for you no matter what" he hugged her.
"Mmm" Lina moved and they both turned to see her wake up.
Avril rushed to her side, "You're awake" he said.
Breathing she gazed up at him, her eyes moved down to his clothes coloured in red. Springing up she held his chest, "Your hurt, you said you were not but your stained in blood" her eyes instantly filling with tears.
He stopped her warmly holding her hand and gently stroking her face, "Am okay Lina, it's just animal blood" he said.
"But....that bear was huge how did you...."
"Don't worry it's over now am glad your safe" Pulling her close he kissed her forehead.
Lina fell into his chest, holding him, "I don't know how you didn't it but am glad you saved me. Thank you"
Hugging her back Avril felt his body calm down.
His mother smiled, "I guess I can leave now "
Lina pulled back to see a young redhead female standing a distance from them she was smiling at them.
"Lina meets my mother, Ella Alexander," Avril said.
"Mother.... she's so young" Lina gaped.
Ella chuckled, "Am not that young little angel but not that old either" Walking closer she touched her head. "Your fever is finally down and you seem to be getting better already"
Lina glanced at Avril who had not let her go yet, "Mother is a doctor, she was the one who treated you"
"Thank you for looking after me, Mrs Alexander," she said.
"Welcome my sweet girl. Now I need to take him away so he can take a shower, but don't worry he will be back" She pulled Avril away.
He didn't seem to want to go but Lina smiled letting go of the shirt she had been subconsciously holding. "Okay"
Avril got up following his mother, "You can lay back down" he said.
Lina scanned the room, it was different from Avril's cold home. They could be bright & warm, decoration and arrangement.
She noticed a pair of clothes aside on the bed.
Now fully awake Lina decided to get dressed and move around.
"Mrs Alexander" she called while walking out.
"Yes, come downstairs" she heard her reply.
Lina slowly went down the stairs and saw her in the kitchen.
"Come sit down" she invited her. Lina sat down next to the kitchen counter.
"What would you like to eat, am making some breakfast for us" she smiled.
"Anything is fine, I don't want to bother you," she said.
"Come on, tell me. Your my son's girlfriend and your first time here wasn't that welcoming so let me make it up to you" she said.
"Ahhh, am not his girlfriend and the accident was my fault"
Avril's mother chuckled, "Okay, but am still taking that request"
Avril walked into them having breakfast already. Lina was giggling at something his mother had said. they both stopped when he came in.
He moved to where Lina was, "Are you well enough to move around" he asked.
She nodded, "My shoulder doesn't hurt that much," she said.
"Don't worry it wasn't that fatal, and the cuts heal on their own. The injury on her heel is recovering well too so stop worrying about her and sit down" his mother said.
Avril sat next to Lina and had breakfast with them.
"Are you leaving after or staying over for a few days?" she asked.
Avril glanced at Lina, "Let's wait until she's all better, your the best doctor so you will help her"
"Am fine with it, I have a few surgeries but I will return in the evening to check on you" his mother said.
"Aright" agreed Lina.
After breakfast his mother left for the hospital and Avril led Lina to the terrace to talk.
