"Your the new intern under the boss?" Lina was having lunch with her new colleagues.
She nodded, "Yeah but I think I messed up only first day".
"Don't worry no one has ever made a good impression on him. His a very tricky man" one said.
"All his interns end up leaving before they are done, after getting fed up by his harsh principles"
Lina blinked, so it wasn't that he didn't like her, he just didn't like anyone she thought.
"But some worry I noticed the Vice President likes you... So it won't be that hard"
"Not really maybe he just saw my potential" she lied.
"Then make sure you show him all you have 'cause if he has your back then the president won't bother you so much," another said.
She sighed, "Thanks guys, I feel better now"
"Don't worry you seem like a nice girl so we are rooting for you" they all said.
She giggled.

After lunch, Richard sent more work to her. So busy she didn't realise it was time to leave.
"Hi Lina aren't you going home?".
She looked up, "No I still have to finish this, they are needed before nine and I still have more time"
"Okay but won't overwork yourself, it's just your first day," her coworker said and left.
Lina sighed, "I would leave but my condition is special" she said going back to work.

Richard walked into Avril's office, "Your new intern is quite capable, she just handed in these take a look"
Avril took them, "See how she organised those documents & made a more easy presentation for each project," said Richard.
Avril after reading them placed them back down.
"Why did you keep her here till this hour?" he said.
Richard smiled, "Oh, you already worried about her"
Avril didn't answer and Richard chuckled, "She left after handling those in. I told her the only way for her to stay was to do her best to impress you. And after showing her samples of how you want your work to be done, your new intern committed herself to this work all day".
Avril got up and picked up his coat.
"Hi, you didn't give me an answer. Do you think she's capable enough".
"Mmm," Avril answered.
Richard smiled watching him leave. "Then have a good night".
"You too," Avril said.

Lina who was standing outside waiting for a taxi heard some behind her.
"What are you still doing here" it was Avril her new boss.
She frowned but then put on her fake smile and answered, " Good evening president"
"Answer the question," he said.
"I was still working on some work from the Vice President" She frowned.
"Do you think you can survive here?" he asked.
She nodded, "I can as long as am given the chance. I have never given up on anything I want to achieve so am confident I will"
He scoffed, "I have heard that before and she quit before a week ended"
She glared at him, "Don't worry I will prove it to you and then you will eat our words"
"What?" he said.
"Nothing, have a good night boss and see you tomorrow" she said waving at him she ran to her taxi which had arrived.
He watched her leave and fluttered.
Why was he indulging her when he could easily stop her internship with one word... "We will see who will eat their words" he breathed and walked to his car.
