"Mr. Li Yue, is that technology or magic? It's truly unbelievable!" Newton couldn't help but ask as he joined Li Yue.
"It's just a form of nanotechnology. No need to be so surprised," Li Yue responded nonchalantly.
"Li Yue, was that transformation from your wristwatch? It's so cool, like a transforming robot from the movies! Can it also turn into a small robot?" Lin Yurou exclaimed in amazement, expressing her curiosity and excitement.
"You think too much, little girl," Li Yue replied, feeling speechless.
"Alright, it's getting late. Let's proceed with our plan," Li Yue quickly changed the subject, noticing Yurou was about to ask more questions.
"Okay, I've been waiting for this!" Newton said eagerly, moving to the control panel and touching the switch.
"Everyone, get ready. We're about to witness a miracle! 3, 2, 1..." Newton counted down and then pressed the switch firmly.
...
A hum of power surged through the circuits, visible as it flowed rapidly. The brains in the containers were enveloped in silver lightning and began to tremble violently. Simultaneously, Li Yue's device, which had transformed from his wristwatch, started to pulse with electrical currents.
Then, a sudden blue beam shot out from the device, forming a virtual projection that filled the laboratory. Images flashed at incredible speed, making it difficult for the observers to keep up.
"Are these the memories of the monster's brain? But they're flashing so quickly, we can't gather any useful information," Dr Herman remarked, turning his head to follow the rapidly changing scenes.
The images continued to flash for about ten minutes before finally stopping. The giant monster's brain twitched several times before going still as if it had died.
"What now? It seems like we wasted our time and didn't get any information about the aliens," Lin Yurou said, feeling a bit defeated.
"I didn't expect this result. Mr. Li Yue, what should we do next? Do we really need a human to perform neural interfacing with the monster?" Newton asked, clearly disappointed and uncertain about the next steps.
"Don't look so down. Who said the plan failed?" Li Yue responded with a smile, noticing their defeated expressions.
"It didn't fail? What's going on?" Everyone turned to Li Yue, awaiting his explanation.
"Xiaodai, the information should be organized by now. Start the playback," Li Yue instructed, ignoring their curious looks.
"Li Yue, who is Xiaodai?" Lin Yurou asked, understanding his instruction since Li Yue spoke in Chinese.
Li Yue didn't answer her question. Before Yurou could continue, the virtual projection reappeared. This time, the images were organised, forming a coherent video.
The video began with the creation of the monster. Unlike other creatures, the monster was cloned. The aliens first cloned the brain and then used massive machinery to assemble the body, making the process appear like mass production of goods.
Information about the aliens, known as the "Precursor," was also revealed, albeit with some gaps.
"They're called the Precursor? And they visited Earth during the dinosaur era?" Newton exclaimed in shock as he watched the video.
"Wow, Xiaodai even added subtitles and narration to the video," Li Yue marvelled, surprised at how well-organized the information was.
The video continued, exposing the aliens' plan in detail.
...
The Precursor had visited Earth during the dinosaur era but found the climate unsuitable for their survival. They marked Earth's location and returned millions of years later, seeing the environment fit for their habitation. However, humans have since evolved on Earth.
The Precursor opened wormholes and sent giant monsters to Earth to wipe out humanity and terraform Earth for their needs. They underestimated humans' resilience and willingness to fight back, seeing it as futile resistance.
In their view, their previous attacks were merely tests. As humans grew weary, they planned a full-scale invasion to conquer Earth and strip it of its resources.
...
"The aliens' plan is so ruthless. They are truly merciless!" Everyone, except Li Yue, who already knew about it, was stunned by the revelation.
"We must hurry back and report this to the general. Our counterattack plan needs to be implemented swiftly!" Dr. Herman declared.
"But won't we visit the dinosaurs later? It's such a shame if we don't!" Lin Yurou lamented, still eager to see the dinosaurs despite the shocking information.
