Chapter 2 - Prologue: The Decent

"NO NO! This just won't do! I can't use this one at all!" The old man said with disgust and disappointment in his voice. "External cultivation is entirely incompatible with the heavenly soul forge technique. You're useless to me. Be gone." The old man waved his hand at Tóng De and he felt as every cell in his body died instantly except for his deified cells in his brain.

He had to think fast now that the rest of his body was destroyed so thoroughly he began thinking at the speed of light in order to plan his survival. "If only I still had the Lazarus Stone, but that bitch at the Crystal Lotus sect would have killed me if I didn't bring her father back to life." He searched for what felt like a millennium for any solution to his predicament, but it wasn't until it was almost too late that he realized the only thing that could save him. "My spacial ring! I modified it to contain Qi so I could store my formations and artifacts. I'll have to empty almost everything inside to make room for my cultivation base but I'll be mostly fine if I stuff my self inside."

In real time, as soon as the old man waved his hand Tóng De dropped to the ground and his spacial ring failed and spewed artifacts and formations all over the place. The old man bent over to examine the spacial ring. "Hmm… interesting it's been modified to hold Qi. Maybe I was a bit hasty, he could have been a skilled craftsman. Oh well, no point crying over spilled milk, so they say." A small pitch black portal appeared next to the old man and he tossed the ring in.

Inside the ring was cramped. Tóng De had no idea what to do now, he was,as far as he could tell, floating out in space, and had been for a long time. Due to the ring's time dilation barely more than a couple of seconds have passed since he fled his body, but in reality he wasn't sure how long he had been adrift. It could have been a million years or ten years, but there was only one way to find out. He gathered his spiritual senses and pushed them through the boundary of the ring. "What the!" He was startled to find that he was surrounded by molten rock and metal flowing extremely fast. Before he could react he was pulled out of the ring by his spirit senses due to the strong spiritual current. "Oh Shit! Oh Shit!" He could feel himself start to dissolve. "Without my deified cells I can't think fast enough to think of a way out of this! Unless… Damn it! I swore I'd never use that technique! But then again, I swore that because I didn't want to lose my human body, but it's a little too late for that now. Alrighty then Hidden Elder Sealing Technique it is then." He began circulating what is left of his Qi in an esoteric pattern. Until eventually he stopped dissolving, and began to absorb the natural Qi from whatever he found himself inside of. His meridians began to swell and stretch as he became one with the new object he fused with.

Once he was finished with this technique the side effects kicked in and he fell unconscious before he could even recognize his new form for what it was, a young planet.
