The two young ladies were clearly at their wit's end dealing with the plump whiz kid and reluctantly made their exit. Before leaving, they shot a glance at Scarlett, their eyes rolling as if to say, "Like she stands a chance handling him."
The whiz kid, Ronnie, was facing the wall, throwing darts with the air of a lone warrior. Scarlett stood not far away, watching him for a while. He was pretty decent at throwing darts; even if he didn't hit the bullseye, he usually scored around seven or eight points.
When he ran out of darts, Scarlett approached him and asked, "Mind if I join you for a round?"
Without turning his head, Ronnie replied, "People come and go. I don't need company, and you don't need to butter me up. Just go talk to my big bro."
Scarlett said, "I don't know anyone here, and I can't really join in with them."
Ronnie, puzzled, turned to look at her and asked, "Aren't you here with my bro?"
"I came with Mr. Zhou, Lucius Zhou," Scarlett clarified.
