CHAPTER 125

RENAN CARMICHAEL was leading the team entering the Oxford campus to arrest Yuliya Barah and Daniel Leaks when the Dean came to him and said:

— Who do you think you are, to trespass on private property?

Renan paid no attention to the old dean, continued as if there was no one there talking to him, and after much insistence said:

— We are looking for a terrorist, if you are covering one, you will also be arrested, am I clear?

The dean was silent when Carmichael signaled for the team to enter the accommodation, it was a quick and accurate action, but when they opened the door, they saw two beds with two people in them, when they removed the blanket they saw that they were pillows simulating the bodies of two people:

— They're not here — said the agent.

— Shit! — Renan shouted indignantly, punching the hood of the car.

He looked at the dean who didn't seem to be enjoying that action at his college:

— Where are they?

— Where what or who, agent?

Renan held him by the collar in a menacing way.

— Yuliya Barah and her son.

The dean smiled.

— I have no idea who you're talking about.

— Don't make a fool of me, Dean, she's been teaching here for over ten years.

— Do you have any idea how many colleges make up Oxford and how many professors teach here?'

Suddenly, Renan felt like an idiot.

— I'll love to make a representation against you for trespassing on private property without a court order, now get out of my college.

Renan was going to hold the dean in contempt, but a series of reporters arrived and began taking countless photos and bombarding the agent with questions.

Damn... I'll get them...

THE DEAN OPENED THE DOOR of his office and saw Yuliya and Daniel sitting quietly.

— They are gone?

— You don't have to worry about that anymore.

— But what if they want to come in here?

— They've already made the mistake of coming here without a warrant, they wouldn't risk a disastrous second onslaught, especially with all the media out there.

Yuliya hugged her former art history teacher.

— I don't even know how to thank you, Will.

— The important thing is to be well, Paul has always been a good funder for this institution, it's the least we could do for his family, if we can't save a good teacher, who would be worthy of being saved?
