CHAPTER 5
THE DREAM WAS DIFFERENT from anything he had had until that moment, it was rare that he remembered something that his sleep brought, like all nerds, he was adept at sleeping little, that is, he slept late and woke up early, but at that night in particular he dreamed and remembered every detail.
For it was a dream of the only woman he had ever loved in his life.
He was on the Oxford campus and saw Yuliya, for an instant everything felt real, it was as if he had been transported to the past and lived those intense moments all over again.
Yuliya was the only woman he had ever loved, and because she disappeared, he only made a commitment to God. It was one of those unique cases. A nerd who had every reason and knowledge in the world to be an atheist, for some inexplicable fact, believed in God and served him. But having lost Yuliya caused him serious pain and anger against his God, so he accepted the invitation to work at MI6.
Igor Zumerick was visually different from the vast majority of nerds, he was a handsome man, dressed elegantly and was a staunch Christian.
In the dream she started to walk towards the sun and she looked back and smiled in that unique way that won him over, then everything around him started to explode and he woke up hearing his cell phone ringing.
— Yulia...
IT WAS THREE o'clock in the morning when Father Igor Zumerick's cell phone rang, he knew better than anyone that if a priest's cell phone rang at that time of the morning it was not good.
To make matters worse, Father Zumerick was with the English Secret Service, known worldwide as MI6, working to find out who those geeky lunatics were who had roiled the Internet in 2012 and, logically, were back in action. At that moment, all he didn't want was to be woken up after nearly three straight days working on decoding the new round.
— Hello! — He said sleepily.
He heard the information that made him wake up immediately.
— Of course... I'm on my way.
It was incomparably worse than he could even imagine...
— As my grandmother would say, bad news always keeps anyone awake at night.
