Eva had never been one to back down from a challenge, so when her editor assigned her to do a report on the mafia, she didn't hesitate to accept. She had heard the rumors about the dangers of dealing with the mafia, but she had always been curious about the darker side of life. Her friends and colleagues tried to talk her out of it, but she was determined to get to the bottom of this story.
She began to do her research, pouring over articles and books on the subject. Eva grew up in a very sheltered environment, so she barely had any idea of anything in this world. According to whatever she read in books, the mafia was someone dangerous, but she believed love could change anyone and make them a good person. Her friends thought that her thoughts were really nonsense and did not believe in her.
Despite all the warnings, Eva was able to fix a meeting with the mafia. On the day of the meeting, she dressed up in her best clothes and headed towards the place where the meeting was supposed to happen. But when she arrived, the place was deserted, with no one in sight.
Eva began to feel scared when a car pulled over and someone duct-taped her eyes. Some men covered her eyes and started driving. Soon the car stopped, and she was taken out of the car. She was scared and shaking violently. One of the guys who abducted her removed her eye cover. At first, her eyes could not take so much brightness so sudden, but when she was able to see properly, she saw a young man half-naked coming out of a pool. Her heart skipped a beat, and she got shy looking at him. He put a towel around him and went closer to her. His tattoos were now more visible to her, making her more shy. She tried to talk, but she was getting more nervous around him. He came closer to Eva. He had a well-built body with scars and tattoos all over his body. She was flustered and looked away. The mafia greeted her and asked her to sit inside his villa. Eva froze in shock when he talked, but soon snapped out and walked inside his villa. She was mesmerized by how big his villa was. The mafia asked her to be comfortable and asked his men to bring drinks and snacks for her. Eva then started to interview him and get to know more about him.
Eva: "I am here to interview you for my report."
Mafia: "Alright."
Eva, taking out her diary and pen, asked, "Shall we proceed?"
Mafia: "Sure, I do not see any issue in it," he laughed a bit.
Eva: "So what work do you do?"
Mafia: "Our work is similar to any normal work. We work for money and pride."
Eva, thinking that this was too vague, asked, "You kill people as well?"
Mafia: "Not unnecessarily, but when someone tries to stop our work, then yes. By the way, have some drinks."
Eva, taking a drink, said, "Thank you. Can you please specify your work even more?"
Before the mafia could answer the question, he got a call from his team, and they called him for an urgent meeting. The mafia wanted to drop her off at her home and apologize for taking her here like this, but because of the urgency, he had to leave as soon as possible. Before leaving, he handed her his number and asked if they could meet sometime at night. He left his place and asked his guard to leave Eva wherever she wants. His guard left Eva watched as the car drove away, her thoughts consumed by the enigmatic man she had just met. She found herself unable to shake the feeling that there was more to Luca than he let on. She knew she should be scared of him, of the danger he represented, but instead, she felt drawn to him.
The next few days passed by in a blur. She tried to focus on her work, but her mind kept drifting back to Luca. She found herself constantly checking her phone, hoping he would text or call her. But as the days went by, she began to lose hope. She had been foolish to think that someone like him would be interested in her.
One evening, as she sat at home trying to distract herself with a book, her phone rang. She jumped at the sound, her heart racing as she saw Luca's name on the screen. She answered the call, trying to sound casual.
"Hey," she said, trying to keep her voice steady.
"Hey yourself," Luca replied. "I was wondering if you wanted to grab a drink tonight?"
Eva's heart skipped a beat. "Sure, that sounds great," she said, trying not to sound too eager.
"Great. I'll send a car to pick you up in an hour," Luca said before hanging up.
She rushed to get ready, her mind racing with excitement and nerves. She wasn't sure what to expect, but she knew she wanted to see Luca again.
The car arrived on time, and she stepped inside, trying to keep her cool as the driver took her to their destination. When she arrived, she was surprised to find that they were at a high-end restaurant. Luca was waiting for her at the entrance, looking even more handsome than she remembered. He greeted her with a warm smile and led her inside.
As they sat at the bar, sipping their drinks, Eva couldn't help but feel like she was living in a dream. She had never been to a place like this before, and she couldn't believe that she was here with someone like Luca.
