Chapter 35 - Chapter 35: Special

Mackenzie thought about Nathan's question for a while and shrugged

"I don't really get it either" Mackenzie said "But, after my real dad, died, I've been able to strange things. Well, me, my bother, Scott, and my cousin, Elias" she said

"Strange? How strange?" Nathan asked

"Well, for my cousin and my brother, they grew up too fast. Their muscles started filling up at an incredibly fast rate, they got stronger, faster and more agile than most people their age and the funny thing is, they never went to the gym" she explained "They also had abnormal hearing, sense of smell and taste. Elias and Scott could even see at night and injuries that usually took weeks to heal, healed in two days when it came to them"

"Kenzie, have you ever seen them transform or-"

"Nope. My family are humans. How could they possibly transform?" She asked as though stating the obvious

"Sorry"

"But for me, everything was different" Mackenzie said "I could see more than most, hear more, taste more, smell more, and feel more"

"You're able to do more than feel?" Nathan asked and she nodded

"When I look at something, I see them in colorful silhouettes. The shape of each silhouette is different but the colors are same. Werewolves are blue, vampires are red, witches and wizards are green. Hybrids depending on what they're a mixture of, could have purple for hybrids of vampires and werewolves, cyan for hybrids of werewolves and witches, and magenta for hybrids of vampires and witches" Mackenzie said "But, you and Sloane are different. You have a dark red silhouette in my eyes, while Sloane has a gold one"

"It must be because of the seeds" He murmured

"Spirits are white. Well, that place we went to, I could only see white and gold. I've never met a true demon before, so I don't know it's color but someone like that weirdo, Dante, has a dark purple silhouette wrapped around a little yellow" Mackenzie said

"The dark purple must be Dante's curse while the yellow is a sign of him being human" he murmured "So humans are yellows to you?"

"That's how I see them" she said

"When you see this, what else do you see?" He asked with curiosity. Mackenzie's ability to him, was really strong and it really gave him an idea as to why Alexa described her family as an abnormality among humans.

"When they're feeling or doing something, the silhouette will flicker. However, if I concentrate some more, I can see movements the person either made or is planning on making" Nathan sat up at what she said

"That was how you found Sloane?" He asked and she nodded

"My hearing works the same as my sight. I can hear people and pick out sounds in my head. When I do that, the sound I pick, will change to the color of the person's race" she said "How I feel presences, also works in the same way. Every presence is attached to me by a string, that's the color of the person's race. When the string cuts, it means the person in dead but when it vibrates, I can tell they're in danger. Likewise the same as when I hear slight ripping sounds from the string, it means the person is getting closer to death"

"So, Sloane's string had cut?" He asked

"It cut, but the color remained on the string. When a string cuts, the color is meant to disappear yet, I could still see Sloane's and that scared me" she said sadly "I'm so glad she didn't die and leave me like everyone else"

"You really have a gift. You could further advance it during training" Nathan said "For now, you should probably get some rest" he said and she yawned

Mackenzie snuggled closer to Nathan and shut her eyes but then she opened them again and placed Nathan's hand on her waist before shutting her eyes. Nathan smiled when he could hear her steady breathing; it was a sign she was deep in sleep. He laid down next to her and covered the two of them with a duvet before shutting his eyes.

However, something bothered Nathan

'Everything she said, is only proof of what Clark said' Nathan thought 'She could be a special breed and that's why she smells human. Because, other than humans from thousands of years ago, like Dante, I've never herd a human able to do such wonders' he thought as Mackenzie appeared in his mind 'I want to protect her. And I believe this ability will protect her. So if she is a special breed, she'll need to learn how to behave like her kind and unlock all the powers of her breed. So that, that dream, that nightmare, will never come to be our future' he thought as he doze off into blissful slumber.

Around midnight, a certain group had arrived at Greenwood Springs. They came while driving two large black buses.

The buses had tinted windows and nobody from outside, could see who was inside. The bus also had mighty bumpers in front of them and the headlights were bright. The car gave a mighty roar when it moved until it stopped in front of an eatery.

The eatery was still open to the surprise of the people on the buses. People were still working while others were eating in peace.

Inside of one of the buses, a young man had rested his back on the car seat

"We're finally back in Greenwood Springs" he said in a murmur as he looked to his side. The young man was a redhead with striking teal eyes. His physique was good and he had a calm aura which surrounded him with the sense of a good leader.

To his side, was a little girl who would dose and wake up on a constant bases. She was also a redhead and had crystal blue eyes which was rare among her race.

"Lilith, we're here" he said and the little girl jolted awake

"Where's the food, Tim?" Lilith asked as she stared at the guy with expecting eyes

"Glutton" the guy chuckled and she frowned

"Big brother Timothy, you're not being nice" Lilith shouted

"Fine. Fine. I'm sorry" Timothy raised his hands in surrender "I'll go get something for everyone" he said before bringing out a small ruby from a sac.

This was how demons lived on earth and had a lot of power. When they come into the human world, they come with their treasures. Rooms filled with jewels of all kinds, gold, jewellery and crystals or chests filled with the same items. Just by swapping or selling the treasures, they're able to live the high life.

"Would you all like something?" Timothy asked the people behind him and just the grumbling of their stomachs gave him an answer "The back cabinet has blood packs for the vamps. I'll head in and ask for meaty food and a few balanced meals for the werewolves and magic association" he said as he got down from the bus and walked towards the eatery. He wasn't the only one who had gotten off as a girl with short black hair was walking side by side with him. She had gotten off the other buses and followed him

"I thought you'd stay on the bus" Timothy said

"I'll break your teeth, Tim" the girl said

"Sure, Zuri" Timothy said as he opened the door to the eatery and the girl walked though "That's rude" he murmured as he walked through the own door and shut it

"A gentleman is meant to open the door for a lady. And you call yourself a noble" Zuri said with a scoff

"Like you said, 'A Lady' not 'A Barbarian'" Timothy said with a sly smile as he walked passed her and up to the counter

"How I wish I could kill you" Zuri murmured

"But Prince Clark and the others wouldn't like that" Timothy said as he focused on the task at hand but there was nobody at the counter "Are there seriously no helps?" He asked and then, he heard a scream. He looked to his side only to see a group of people with piercings, attacking one of the female workers.

"Humans never change" Zuri mumbled "Especially those in Greenwood Springs"

"Well, I don't give a shit. I'm hungry" Timothy said as he walked over to the table where these people were. A guy at the table was just about to grab the female worker by the collar when, Timothy had grabbed the guy's hand and punched him. "Stop assaulting the workers. If you think they made a mistake, you tell them. You're not the only ones that have rights to eat here, understood?" Timothy asked angrily and the group nodded.

Timothy had taken the girl's hand and led her back to the counter. He sighed before asking

"Are you alright?"

"I-I'm fine" the girl said with a blush on her face as she stared at Timothy. She had hazel eyes and hair and her uniform was slim fitted to match her size. "Thank you for helping me"

"No probs" Timothy said "Can we get something to eat?" He asked before rephrasing his question "Or, a to-go order for one hundred and ninety people"

"One hundred and ninety?" The girl let out "Who are you people? You definitely don't look like someone from around here. And where are you going?"

"That's a lot of-"

"We're not exactly new here. We're just moving back in. We left here when we were younger" Timothy explained while interrupting Zuri "I'm Timothy. But you can call me Tim while, this here is Zuri" he said gesturing to Zuri

"I'm Priya. It's good to have you guys back here" Priya said "So, what would you all like? And by all, I mean all one hundred and ninety of you?" she asked

Some minutes later, Timothy, Zuri and Priya were walking out of the eatery with several polythene bags towards the buses. After dropping everything inside the two buses, Zuri had gotten back into her bus

"Make it quick" Zuri said as she got in the bus and started it

"So, I'll see you around?" Priya asked and Timothy scratched the back of his head

"I really....doubt I'll see you again" Timothy said

"Oh" she let out

"Goodbye" Timothy said as he got into his bus and started it "Let's get moving, Zuri" he said through a communicator and the two buses were off. Priya stood there as she watched the two buses drive in the direction of the southern forests

"Hey!!!Don't go there" Priya shouted but at the speed the buses were going, she was sure they couldn't hear her.

Since that was what happened, she ran after one of the buses and hand jumped before holding onto a metal ladder at the back of the bus. She had scrapped her knee while doing this and now, it was bleeding. But she held on tight as the bus continued until it reached the boarder that blocked the tarred road which lead passed the southern forest. The buses suddenly stopped and turned off.
