"You really catch on fast" Dante said and after he said that, a loud ripping sound followed by a godforsaken scream came from Mackenzie
When they all looked at her, her hair was turning white and large wings were sticking out from her back
"It hurts. Dad, it hurts a lot" Mackenzie sobbed "Why does it hurt?"
"Can't you do anything to stop the pain?" Nathan asked
"It's taking all of my magic power to keep her from passing out" Virginia said "She's draining me of everything I have"
"Of course she is" Dante said leisurely "She's a dragon keeper with unlimited magic power"
"How can you be so calm right now?" Nathan shouted
Dante sighed when he saw him in this state "You're not thinking straight like the Nathan I used to know" he shook his head "You're for the first time...afraid" he pointed out "However, that's also a good thing. But, are you really meant to be afraid right now?"
Hearing this, Nathan took a deep breath and cleared his mind "What do I need to do?"
"Judging by how strong her bloodline is, her mother was the dragon keeper before her. But now, the question is, which bloodline did her father belong to?" Dante asked "It's clear due to her reaction, both bloodlines disagree with each other. As such, they're fighting over who should be more dominant. If you find that out, I'll tell you how to make her sta-"
"Are you an idiot?" Nathan asked "How could you not even be paying attention to your own story?" he said "The dragons and demons fought. And the dragon keepers inherited the will of the dragons to keep the demons in the underworld. Doesn't that simply mean her father was a demon?"
"I...really didn't think of that" Dante mumbled "The question now, is what breed of demon? And, are you really going to do what needs to be done?"
"From what Sloane told me and what Kenzie told me, Kenzie's father was probably a hybrid of a lycan and something else" Nathan stated "As for the second question, try me"
"Louisa doesn't know much about the spirit seed in Sloane, as I who has spent time in the spirit world" Dante sighed
"What does this have to do with Sloane?" Cassandra asked
"Nathan and Sloane will have to conduct bloodline succession on Mackenzie so that she's be stable" Dante said "However, Sloane's stated isn't favourable. Have you ever thought, 'What will happen to a demon who has been gifted a pure spirit?'"
"You....you can't be serious-"
"But I am, Alexa" Dante said "Nobody in the northern tribe has used the spirit seed to the level of Sloane. Just like nobody has used the demon seed to the level of Nathan. We can already determine what will happen to Nathan if he continues using his seed. And this is all because he's a demon..... However, the spirit seed inside of Sloane is another story because, she's a demon. It could result in self destruction, complete loss of her powers, and the inability for her soul to be reborn when she dies"
"I won't allow it" Nathan said
"If you don't use the bloodline succession method, Mackenzie will die" Dante stated calmly "And if you use it, there's the possibility of Sloane dying. It's your choice"
"Nathan, maybe your parents..." Allen said but his voice began to fade when he looked into Nathan's eyes
It never ceased to frighten him whenever Nathan used the demon seed's powers. The eyes of Nathan looked like the pits of hell burning with lava and the tattoo that had been burnt unto his back, was glowing through his shirt. Whenever Allen saw this, even as an alpha, his body would instantly tell him to back off.
"I'll make sure none of them die" Nathan said sternly as he picked Sloane into his arms "I'll be moving to the room above this one so, nobody should interrupt us" he added and a portal opened in front of him before he walked through it and it closed
"Still very arrogant" Dante sighed

After Nathan walked through the portal with Sloane, it closed and they were alone in a large bedroom. He gently laid her on the bed and moved away slightly before sitting at the edge of the bed
"I'm not going to let anything happen to either you or Mackenzie" Nathan said as he took off his shirt and tossed it aside
The tattoo was glowing brightly and had a slight tingling sensation. Nathan knew it was a reaction he got whenever he was with Sloane and didn't even mind it anymore
He moved closer to Sloane until he was above her with both his hands at the sides of her head
"Can you please wake up?" Nathan asked "I need your help to save Kenzie" he said but there was no answer from her. Afraid, he moved his right hand to touch her neck and his eyes widened. Her skin was as cold as ice and was slightly pale "You...you've already reached your limit, huh?" Nathan asked as he rested his forehead on hers "Dante was right. If I go through with this, I'll lose you" he murmured but he saw tears fall from the corners of her eyes
"I said I wouldn't let either of you die" Nathan murmured before remembering his promise of avoiding skin to skin contact with her "Why the hell would I keep such a stupid promise?" he murmured before locking his lips with hers
Inside of his mind, he was in a dream with Sloane. She was sitting next to him and watching the same dream as her. It was a dream of when she was welcomed into the Connor family. Nathan saw how she hid behind James Connor's back while Scott and Elias were trying so hard to impress her. It was a warm feeling but then, the scenery changed.
It was the Sloane he knew and she was sitting in the cemetery with several gravestones around her. She was crying her eyes out and that was when he noticed the Sloane next to him also crying
"I...didn't mean to kill them" the Sloane shouted "I didn't want anyone to die. I didn't want anyone to-"
"Shh" Nathan hushed her as he covered her eyes from behind "I finally found you. The real you"
"N-Nathan?" Sloane mumbled
"Let's go home" Nathan said "To the place you currently belong"....
Sloane's eyes shot open and she sat up and looked around the room. It was only when she looked to her side, did she see Nathan laying down while staring at the ceiling. His upper body was bare and Sloane couldn't help staring at it
" Do you like what you see?" Nathan asked before pinning her on the bed beneath him
"I-I didn't mean to" Sloane muttered while blushing
"It doesn't matter" Nathan said before bringing his lips to her ear "Will you let me in?"
