Chapter 12 - When am I? (Info Dump)

It had been an unknown amount of time before I finally opened my eyes. Slowly sitting I felt all of my muscles relax after the stiff bed that was the floor. My hunger had all disappeared as if it never existed.

Looking at my clothes they were clean even though I was covered in blood and I was sleeping in dirt and viscera. They must have had a cleaning and repair function so that was one less thing to worry about. I needed a stream to clean off the dried blood on my skin as I doubt I could walk through the streets looking like.... this.

After cleaning myself I went back into the town and looked for the adventurers guild. I pushed open the doors and walked towards the counter ignoring the subtle glances of the adventurers.

"Hello how can I help you today?"

"Hello I need some information and a map of the area."

"Ah well we can surely help you sir! If you follow me to the waiting room we will call our information broker."

"All right I will wait, Thanks for helping."

"No problem sir!" a faint blush on her cheeks told me all I needed to know.

A man with barely any presence sat opposite me before placing two teacups and saucers.

Greetings I am Glenn the master of this guild branch. I heard that you wanted information.

Yes I need info and a map. I'm heading to the academy so I need travel info and info about when they accept students.

The academy is a month's travel by carriage but the next acceptance test for students is in 4 months time.

Can I get the current date and the year.

It is the 16th of morndas, It is the year of our goddess 1315

The tea i was holding fell from my hand.I instantly activated my parallel processing skill. It was so much of a shock to me that I did it unconsciously.

60 years had passed! It seems that our calculations of the time that I would awaken were wrong even with all of the calculations and magic we set in place. Knowing that I had less time than expected gave me some form of existential dread, I didn't have that long before we were summoned, 307 years is all I have to gain as much strength as possible and create my own foothold. I want to have a period of time where I can live peacefully before the summoning so let's say I have 100-150 years to reach the strength of the leading races and become the strongest.

It took her that long to reach the pinnacle as it is no way easy to reach the highest of ranks especially since there is no easy method to rank up like some cheat item that could boost your potential or automatically rank you up. That was why she was so sought after since she could drink blood to increase her rank unlike every other race.

The first thing to do is go to that academy and get stronger. Luckily or not I will be able to join in training since I can't use blood to gain strength for a while, maybe not until I hit B rank in all of my stats and then I should be able to gain strength from blood again but it could vary and I may be able to do it earlier or later I'm just not sure. I am going from what my body is telling me.

Calming my mind with a sigh while till accelerating my mind I couldn't help but think of what a joke this is.

This feels similar to all of those novels that I read in my free time. Maybe I'll find some protagonist or something. I still don't know much about the world so this may be the best time to ask.

Grabbing the teacup that was still in fall I managed to stop the tea from spilling before deactivating my skill. Gathering my nerves I asked my next set of questions.

What exists in this world?:

The races had made kingdoms with leaders from each race towering over the others like an empire.

The elves had taken the forests of the ancients as their homes and created the great elven kingdom which was the most advanced in magic. Their swordsmanship ingrates the forces of nature and wind creating a formidable foe that could massicare multiple opponents.

Dwarves had taken over the mountains creating a subsystem of tunnels and railways that all races could use for travel. They mainly stuck to themselves like the elves did creating artifacts and weapons as their attack strength was pitiable but they made up for it with their minds and smithing might.

The Beastmen had created a country that discriminated against humans as most human kingdoms had a negative outlook on the other races for their unique constitutions and looks, Or they were enslaved for their qualities. Their beastly strength and endurance created a fearsome foe and the king who held the strongest beast bloodline could overpower multiple same ranked opponents or so they say.

A Bird-like race called the Ronan had taken up the Highlands where they created their kingdom. They apparently had little care for the other races and used their wings to travel between places. Their archery skills and mastery of flightade them a difficult opponent for those with no magic or aura blades. Truly a terrifying opponent.

Humans had taken everywhere else out of necessity and greed, Enslaving other races while trying to stay neutral or friendly with the stronger races like elves and dwarves as they were stronger than them by a large margin. They prided themself on noble titles and wealth however they were dangerous too with the natural human adaptability they had advanced in mana technology and aura, This made them a deadly race like the others and one that could not be trifled with.

Finally the Dragonkin were an unknown variable that seemed to pop up from nowhere from time to time. They have inborn strength and endurance so they mainly travel as mercenaries. Not much is known about them.

The academy was protected by a champion in each race to keep the tensions down. This allowed the students to attend without being looked down on and there was no racism or elitism . Each student was only ranked on strength and not on noble titles creating a place of equality where the strong ruled over the weak instead of bratty nobles using their title to get what they wanted. This also meant that commoners could enlist without issues , it truly seemed like it would be a good place as long as it is all true. Currently it was in its infancy stage as it was originally a human academy and it has only recently changed due to the treaty project.

The treaty project is how relations between races were to improve, it was a project created by the leaders of the races to improve relations and allow the younger generation to gain strength and build connections but something seemed wrong. There was definitely an ulterior motive for the academy being built.

What about the demons that we had been summoned to stop from taking over the world? Did they still exist or were they in hiding gathering strength. Did the leaders of each race know a war was on its way and that's why they created the academy to strengthen the young minds for war?

I had so many questions and suspicions but I had no answers nor could I ask the information broker without causing suspicion. I would have to learn myself and that meant that the academy was the best choice.

Leaving a bag of coins I took the map and left towards the academy. I would visit dungeons and villages on the way while also doing muscle training.
