Chapter 62 - Rebecca’s Favorite Restaurant (Part 3)

Two big plates were placed at our table. Steam was rising from the piping hot food. The skewers were made of square pieces of meat that looked like chicken. The aroma quickly reached my nose. The mixture of spices and sauce made my mouth water. Before I could think anything else, I grabbed the wooden handle for one of the skewers and took a bite. I closed my eyes as I savored the flavor. The meat was practically melting in my mouth because it was so tender. It had a smokey flavor from the grill. The sauce and spices gave the meat a delicious tangy flavor. It reminded me of hickey bbq sauce. I finished my first skewer within a minute as I was lost in my own little world.

'Becca was right! This place makes some amazing skewer!'

As my mind went to Becca, I embarrassingly realized that I was completely ignoring her while I enjoyed my skewer. I looked up suddenly and saw Becca looking at me happily with a big toothy grin.

"What are you starting at?! Come on, eat your food before it gets cold!"

I brought my head back down to my food so she couldn't see how embarrassed I was.

I could hear her giggling. "Haha, it makes me happy that you loved my recommendation so much. I already know the flavor of the skewers. It won't hurt to eat them a few minutes after they come out. Don't mind me, continue enjoying your food."

I calmed myself down and finally looked up at her.

"Yes, I think these skewers really are delicious. You made a really good recommendation. Now come on, the greatest enjoyment comes from sharing food with people you care about."

Becca smiled so brightly that her eyes turned into crescent. "You are right about that!"

We both started chowing down on our food. After I had finished two more skewers and had a few swigs of my beer, I turned my attention to the grilled corn on the side.

Sadly, the corn was just grilled plainly and had some butter on top. I took a couple of bites to try it out. It was good, but when comparing it to elote, it was disappointing.

Becca noticed the slight frown I made for a split second. "You don't like the grill corn? I thought you said you liked it."

I shook my head. "No, it is definitely good grilled corn. However, remember when I said there was a grilled corn I liked that was called elote?"

"Elote is different than normal corn on the cob that you grill?"

"It is corn on the cob that you grill, but it has a lot of other ingredients on top. It has mayonnaise, cheese, chili power, and lime. It is the mixture all together that makes elote so good."

Becca scrunched up her nose. "Mayonnaise on corn? That sounds weird…"

"Haha, trust me! It's really good when it's all put together. I'll make some for you sometime at home. I promise you will understand me after you take one bite."

Becca still looked skeptical. "Okay, I'll only try one bite."

"Alright! One bite is all it will take to change your mind!"

We continue enjoy our food and beer. After we finished about half of the food on our plates, we started to slow down and chat casual. I also ordered another beer for myself, since I finished my second one. Three was the limit I put on myself for the day, so I could get a little buzzed without losing control of my emotions.

Another thirty minutes passed as we finished up our food. "Hey Becca, I need to go to the bathroom really quick. Once I'm back, we can get going."

"Didn't you go to the bathroom earlier?"

Oh shoot, I forgot I used going to the bathroom as an excuse to stop by the accessory stall earlier.

"Well, I ended up drinking three whole beers! It went through me really quickly haha."

Becca herself actually decided to stop drinking after only half of her beer was gone and switched to water to drink with her meal since she especially didn't want to get drunk. Because of that, she didn't need to pee yet, so my story was a little more believable.

I quickly left before she could question me more.

I slowly took my time going to the restaurant. The three beers I drank really did fill me up. After I washed up, I left the bathroom while whistling. The date so far has been a ton of fun and we still have a couple of hours to enjoy ourselves before we had to head back home.

However, my happiness evaporated the moment I looked over to our table. There was a man I never seen before in my seat seemingly chatting up Becca! I knew the situation was completely different, but the scene eerily reminded me of the day I walked in on my ex cheating on me at a restaurant.

'This piece of sh*t! I'm going to teach him his place! I leave for 5 minutes and insects already start to flock to my woman!'

I wanted to teleport directly to him and kick his *ss, but I didn't want people to know I was an advanced mage. I quickened my pace. As I was halfway back to the table, the unknown man reached over and put his hand on Becca's shoulder.

'I'm going to use my lightning blade to castrate this pr*ck!!'

I couldn't wait any longer! As I was about to teleport, the man suddenly was drenched in water. Becca ended up used her basic water spell to pour water on his head. After the water, she also reached over with her half finished beer and poured that on his head as well.

Then, she ran over to me, hugged my arm, and started to drag me towards the exit. "Let's get out of here, HUSBAND! Some people here don't know when to back off!"

Becca's actions helped me to calm down from my enraged thoughts. I need to trust in Becca more. She won't betray me.

As we were storming away, the man shouted to the other people in the restaurant, who were giving him dirty glances. "I didn't know she was married! It's her fault for seducing me!"

What bs is this guy saying? There is no way Becca did anything to intentionally seduce him. I sneakily used a basic lightning spell to hit the man where he was soaked by Becca's water, so he would be stunned until he dried up.

Once he was hit by the lightning bolt, he instantly fell out his chair and started to spasm. I laughed in my heart and left the restaurant with Becca.
