Aylin walked slowly and without purpose, her shoulders slouched and her gaze fixed on the ground. Her feet dragged along the marble floor of the hallways creating a shuffling sound as her arms hung limply at her sides, her face wearing an expression of defeat.
Two days had passed since she made the deal with Kian and during those two days, Tanya and her brother had left, good riddance to them, weirdly, Isa's lookalike, Lady Elara or whatever her name was arrived shortly after Tanya's departure, saying she came to check on Aylin and apologize for what happened at the banquet while bearing gifts—gifts Rhea had called cheap and distributed to the helpers, and most importantly, she hadn't been able to find out anything about what Kian's favorite food or drink was. Despite asking almost everyone in the mansion, especially Gustavo and Trevor.
