"It's not cliché, Sheila. You wouldn't understand. I'm doing this for you," Chris said.
Sheila nodded as if she understood. "Of course, it's all for me. Why else would you break my heart if it wasn't for my sake?"
Sarcasm dripped from Sheila's words, showing how angry she was. Mia felt awkward listening in on their conversation, but they barely registered the fact that she was there. All they could see was each other and the anger that drove them.
"Hmmm. I think I'll just excuse myself so you guys can talk. I'll be back, Sheila."
There was no response. Mia moved slowly until she reached the door. She stared at them, hoping they wouldn't tear each other apart. "I'll just wait outside. In the car."
