Chapter 5 - 5- Running towards my Salvation

He takes quick strides in my direction, a second later he was towering over me peering down at me. Quickly, I brush off my clothing and stand up shakily. "Please... I don't want any of this, don't hand me over to those... those monsters! I accept your offer!" I spoke to him in a shaky voice, his gaze never leaving my face. He remained silent for a long while.

"Well, who even said that the offer still stands?" he asks with a smile. "The time is up for the offer, you chose wrong. It is no longer available to you." he declares straightforwardly.

"No... please don't do this... please have mercy." I plead with him, tears filling my eyes making them blur. Stepping forward he cups my face making me flinch at his touch. He took yet another step towards me, causing me to step back to maintain some distance between us. Trying to remain calm, I ask him "So, what do you want from me?"

He kept silent as he took yet another step towards me, making me step back a couple more times before I met the cold stone wall again. I glanced up at him in horror when he caged me between him and the wall. Placing his hands on both sides of me, blocking all of my escape routes. Then he leaned in closer, and I held my breath staring up at him with wide, terrified eyes. He didn't flinch when I placed my hands against his chest. It took a lot of courage for me to push against his chest... still, he did not flinch, not even an inch. The chest of this man was as hard as stone. He continued to remain silent and I took that moment to plead with him once more. "Move, please."

"No, I don't think so," he said as the smile on his face grew. As soon as he grasped my hands, he pressed them against the wall, pushing his body against mine. I tried wiggling my hands free from his grip, but he tightened his and so it did no good. I trembled and tried to control my shaky breathing as my heart began to race. Although I closed my eyes and whispered for him to move away, he didn't. I felt his hot breath fan across my neck a second later sending shivers down my spine. Once more I tried to get free. "Stay still, my love!" he said and my heart stopped. I heard the hint of venom in his voice, then suddenly an idea popped into my head, and without thinking too much about it, I gathered up all of my energy and kicked him in the crouch. He stepped back immediately, releasing his hold on me and I took off running as fast as I could for the door. "Hey, stop right there!" his voice boomed from behind me.

Taking a moment to glance back at him, I calculated what my next course of action was going to be. The man was bent down on the ground holding onto himself as he stared at me with anger in his eyes. After pushing aside my thoughts, I open the door and find a hallway completely deserted. As I ran down it, I found a set of wooden stairs that lead upwards. It was then that I realized I had to be in some basement, and I frantically scurried up the stairs as I heard his heavy footsteps pounding quickly behind me. I looked back to see that he was indeed following me... "Stop right there!"

It was my freedom that was at stake here, so I decided to turn and run for it. When I found the front door of the amazing house, I immediately rushed towards it. Upon reaching for the doorknob, I heard a loud bang and my heart stopped as I looked behind me. He stood there, a gun in his hand. "Don't make another move." he threatened. My eyes widened, but I was frozen to the spot as I watched him close the distance between us. My hands rose in surrender, and I caught the triumphant smirk on his face again. "Good girl, now if you will... follow me," he said as he turned around and began walking in the opposite direction. I watched as he paused at the base of the stairs and stared at me very carefully. "Don't even think about it," He told me.

"Think about what?" I ask him in confusion.

"I will shoot you in the leg should you try for that door again," he said in a monotone voice before starting up the stairs. I reluctantly followed him as he went down the landing on his way to a set of double doors. He pushes the doors open, pausing in front of them. "Please, step inside," he demanded. Glancing into his brown eyes, I complied and stepped inside the enormous room. The room itself was stunning, with dark grey walls and white trim throughout. Under the large black and grey area rug, the dark wood flooring was smooth. The black comforter and silver throw pillows made the king bed look warm and inviting. My attention was drawn to him as he cleared his throat. "You need to freshen up, your dress is there on the bed." He pointed at it, and I glanced over there to see a slim form-fitting ruby-red dress.

Looking back up into his face as quickly as I can say, "What? Just let me go home!"

"I can assure you, that is not going to happen," he says as he waves his hand. "Now go and clean yourself up and change. We have dinner plans in an hour."

"What are you even talking about? I'm not going to dinner with you..." I sneer at him. "You can't do this to me, it's against the law!"

"Of course, I can, and you will do as I say," he growls at me. "Keep your voice down, you don't want to get on my bad side again." With that said he walked out of the room shutting the door tightly. My eyes landed on the dress as I huffed in annoyance. I decided to grab the dress and head to the bathroom as he had told me to do. As I strip down, I glance in the mirror at my reflection. My heart ached at the sight of myself. My hair was a mess and there were bloodstains everywhere. After receiving several punches, my face was starting to bruise. I glanced down at my stomach and found even more bruises forming there as well. I brought my attention to my thigh and rubbed my fingers along the fresh wound there. I wanted to cry, but taking a deep breath I glare in the mirror at myself. I turned my arm so that I could see what was written on my skin. Shock swept through my body. In large, easy-to-read block letters was the word, Jasper. The bastard branded me as his from the very beginning of this. Whoa, what the hell? Was this his plan from the very beginning? To force me into marrying him?

Turning to the shower, I turn on the water and allow it to warm up. Stepping inside, my body screamed in pain when the warm water came rushing over it. As I washed using his body wash, which honestly was the only thing available to use I winced in pain at the touch. Using his Shampoo, I wash my hair while tears ran down my cheeks as I felt so defeated.

It didn't take me long to finish washing my body. As I emerged from the shower, I wrapped a towel around my body and brushed out my long hair the best I could using only my fingers. Bending down, I pick up my old clothes and I felt something hard in the back pocket of my jeans. Reaching into my pocket, I pull out my cell phone. Crossing my fingers, I hoped for the best... the battery was only at 5% and I knew that it would be dying soon. But maybe there was enough battery to make a single call, but who do I call? The police, my dad, an Uber? As I dialed the number, I bit my lip hoping I wasn't making a mistake here...

Ring...

Ring...

Unexpectedly, I hear my dad's voicemail. As luck would have it, he didn't answer the phone. As soon as I hear the beep I begin to plead my case. "Dad, I was kidnapped... I don't know where exactly I am, but you should be able to track my location..." But before I could even finish my message, my phone died. "Damn it!" I muttered under my breath. That was my only shot at getting out of here. What was I going to do from here? Was I going to have to stay here with this man? I absolutely had no intention of marrying that man, there was just no way in hell that I would. The only thing I could think of was trying to find a way out of here on my own. I glance around the room, spotting the window... there, that was my ticket out of here.

I moved towards the window and found it unlocked. I opened it and peer outside. I noticed one very important thing right away... I was on the second floor and it was a long way down. Underneath the window however was a pool, and I wondered if I could make that jump. Climbing on the edge, I prepare myself to jump. My aim was for the pool, and when I heard the door open in the bedroom I jumped. When I hit the surface of the water, water quickly poured into my mouth and nose; as I went completely under the surface. I kicked off the floor of the pool and swam for the surface. I glanced all around me, the dress I was wearing was completely ruined... but what did I care? A man with his kind of wealth could afford to buy a new dress.

After swimming to the edge of the pool, I pull myself out of the water. As I walked, the dress clung to my body. Glancing every which way I try to find my way out of here. I am sure he probably knows that I am gone by now, so I hide in some bushes as I watched his men run in all directions searching for me. When I suddenly spy the front gate, I notice two men standing guard and wonder if I should be scared of them? They both held big guns in their hands and looked like they could easily kill me. I wondered if I could slip by them?

When my eyes wandered around a bit more, I saw the key to my salvation. There was a big window next to where I was hiding... as I glance inside I noticed that it was some kind of formal sitting area. As I pick up a rock, I slide further away from the window so that I could throw the rock as hard as I could. Hearing the window shatter, I noticed all the guy's attention was on the window. The two guarding the gate even left it unattended and that was when I made a run for it hoping beyond hope that no one saw me. When I squoze through the gate I took off down the road, straight for the very first house that I could see to get help.
