After dropping his girlfriends at their respective homes, the welcoming glow of his house beckoned Orion as he approached the entrance. The aroma of home-cooked food drifted out, instantly warming him. As he pushed open the door, Elara and Selene were finishing the final touches, their faces brightening at the sight of him. His sisters, their chores done, eagerly closed the distance between them.
"You made it!" Luna's voice was soft, but her delight was evident. Her dark eyes sparkled with affection.
Aurora grinned, her more vivacious nature shining through. "Knew you wouldn't let us down!"
Orion chuckled, wrapping his arms around them both. "When have I ever broken a promise?" He leaned down, placing a kiss on each of their foreheads. Despite the evolution of their relationship, the simple act of familial affection still held its charm.
Selene, her serene face lighting up, said, "The food's ready. Everyone, come sit."
They all took their spots around the table, the spread before them a testament to the efforts of the family.
As they started to eat, Aurora and Luna exchanged mischievous glances before bursting into suppressed giggles. Their amusement was contagious; even without knowing the joke, the room soon filled with laughter.
Luna tried to stifle her giggle with her hand, but a snort escaped, making Aurora laugh even harder. Selene's lips twitched, clearly amused by her daughters' antics, while Elara tried to play the stern parent, raising an eyebrow in feigned seriousness.
"What's got you two in such high spirits?" Elara asked, trying to keep a straight face.
Before Luna or Aurora could answer, Elara continued, "It's rare to see Luna giggle so openly. This must be good."
Luna, her cheeks flushed from laughing, said, "Oh, it is. Want to see?" With that, she reached for the remote on the table, aiming it at the TV.
As the screen lit up, Orion instantly recognized the café he had been at earlier. He raised an eyebrow, suspecting what was about to play.
The video feed showed him, dancing light-footedly with Vivi, Tatsumaki, Hinata, and Winry. The energy was palpable, the joy on their faces evident.
"Is that...?" Elara began, a smile playing on her lips.
"Yep! Our brother's got moves!" Aurora chortled, giving Orion a playful nudge.
Luna added in a mumble, almost to herself, "I always said he was a good dancer."
Orion smirked, accepting the gentle ribbing from his family. True to his nature, he wasn't about to shrink away. "See, I can even make a public spectacle and still look good."
Selene laughed softly. "Oh, dear. You are absolutely adorable." Her eyes gleamed with mirth and pride.
Elara admitted, "It's nice to see you so free and happy, Orion."
He met her gaze, warmth radiating from him. "With the family I have, how can I be anything but?"
The title on the video read, "The Lovely Younglings." Clearly, the video was posted with affection, not mockery.
Luna's gaze was fixed on the screen, and in a hushed tone full of longing, she murmured, "It sure is romantic."
Orion caught the soft whisper, and with the characteristic confidence that defined him, rose from his seat. He approached Luna, his steps deliberate and smooth. Stopping in front of her, he offered a graceful bow, his playful eyes twinkling. "Would you honor me with this dance, m'lady?"
Luna's face turned a delightful shade of crimson, the rush of emotions clear in her eyes. But after a moment's hesitation, she looked deep into Orion's eyes and shyly nodded. "Only if you lead well," she teased.
Orion's laughter was soft, his grip gentle but firm as he led Luna to the open space in the living room. They moved effortlessly, their bond clear in the synchrony of their steps. The world seemed to blur around them as they lost themselves in the rhythm of their heartbeats.
Luna leaned her head on Orion's shoulder, her voice barely above a whisper. "You've always been my rock, you know. No matter what we've gone through, it's comforting to know you're there."
Orion's voice carried a hint of mischief. "Well, someone has to make sure you don't trip over your own feet." He spun her around before pulling her close again.
As their dance came to an end, Aurora, with her usual spirited enthusiasm, stood up, clapping. "Alright, alright! My turn!" She held out her hand with an expectant grin.
Orion chuckled, sweeping her into a lively dance. Their movements were more animated, showcasing their playful dynamic. "You're trying to steal the show, aren't you?" Orion teased.
Aurora smirked, "Someone has to make sure you don't get too cocky."
When their dance ended, Orion, in his signature style, decided it was time to surprise the women who meant the world to him. He approached Elara first. "May I?"
Elara, who rarely showed her vulnerable side, looked taken aback but pleased. As a warrior, moments of gentleness and vulnerability were few. But here, in the warmth of her home, with her family, she allowed herself to feel. "Only because it's you," she whispered.
The dance was profound, two strong souls connecting deeply. There was a rawness in their connection, a mutual understanding of the struggles they faced and the love they shared. "You've grown so much," Elara murmured, her voice thick with emotion. "And I couldn't be prouder."
Orion leaned down, whispering in her ear, "And you've always been my hero, long before the world recognized it."
Lastly, he approached Selene, who had been watching with shining eyes. Their dance was the epitome of grace and tenderness. The gentle sway of their bodies was a testament to Selene's nurturing nature and Orion's deep respect for her.
"You've always been the heart of this family," Orion whispered.
Selene's voice was soft, filled with love. "And you, my dear, have always been its soul."
