Kaden's heart raced as he watched the dark energy surge forth from the ground once again. Thick, inky black vines burst forth, entangling the big boss treant and the smaller oncoming treants and slowing their advance.
The entangled roots clashed against the boss's own tendrils, creating a brief stalemate. At the same time, Kaden was not faring any better. Even with his increased agility, he was not able to evade the extensive roots and branches.
The horror mode difficulty of the dungeon was showing its true colors as he struggled to escape the grasp of the boss.
Scrap and Imp1 had already fallen. Only Umbra was still kicking as the big black dog nimbly evaded the roots and branches coming for it. Kaden was coming a close second to the dog mainly because his attributes were better than the dog at the moment.
He also tried knocking away and stabbing some of the attacking tendrils but they were thick and sturdy, his attacks having almost no effect on it.
