Warning: Some Chapters may be obscene with violence, rape and other manners of cruelty. Read at your own risk. Zack, a young boy from the small village of Sanders, always dreamt of using Magic. Alas, such a dream was utterly impossible in the world that he lived in. It's because of the fact that only women were capable of harnessing the powers of Magic. The last man to have used magic was the one who defeated the Demon Lord himself. Because of his heroic act, the people named him the Warlock King on his time. When the Warlock King passed away, his firstborn daughter succeeded him and the next female rulers until today bore the King’s blood and led the land with sheer authority and power unlike any other. For 500 years, ever since the fall of the Demon Lord, no man was recorded to ever even have a semblance of magical power in their arsenal, thus allowing women to be at the pinnacle of society and rule all over the land. These women... Witches, possess a Brand, a unique tattoo to each individual that symbolized their capability of utilizing the Arcane Arts. But one fateful day changed it all, a day of Fire and Despair where the boy Zack suddenly got a Brand. But not just any Brand... It was the Brand of the King. The same Brand that the Warlock King himself possessed.

Chapter 1 - Prologue

500 years ago, a great evil had struck on humanity and laid waste on the earth with its terrorizing magic of darkness.

The evil Demon King Jalak and his army of darkness terrorized the entire land and spared no one of his unbridled wrath.

Humanity at that time held no knowledge of anything related to the arcane, so it was only a matter of time before the demons enslaved mankind and plunged the world to oblivion.

When all hope seemed to be all lost, a champion rose from seemingly out of nowhere and turned the tides of war.

He was the first user of magic, a man gifted with the arcane arts.

He was known by many names, but he was commonly referred to as the Warlock.

But what little did they know that it was a Demon who took pity on mankind who bestowed him with the magical gift. The Demon was tired of their kin's barbaric ways and desired peace among the two races.

Together with his trusted companions and partners, they drove the demons back to their Demon world and humanity at last tasted the sweetness of victory.

During and after the war, the man bestowed his magical knowledge to the people who he found worthy of the gift. But to his bewilderment, not everyone was capable of harnessing the magical arts, and there was one crucial factor that played if one desired to wield such a power.

Women.

Yes, only females were capable of learning magic, and apparently, the Warlock was an anomaly, the only exception.

To become a magic user; a Mage, the Warlock would mark them with a magical binding known as the Brand. But the title of Mage was long forgotten in favor of the term Witch instead since as they say, only women were capable of using magic.

Brands were like tattoos that were engraved on a woman's skin. Once a Brand was struck, it can never be removed.

Conveniently, Brands were also hereditary, so a Witch's daughter would inherit her mother's magical prowess. Subsequently, only daughters were gifted with the Brand, and a Witch's son would never receive the same blessing.

After the war, the Warlock would also become the King, the monarch of magic who ruled the entire land of Grayhart with booming prosperity and peace.

His reign was well beloved, and many revered him like he was a God among men.

With his status as the only male able to use magic, it's inevitable that the Witches would sought for his attention.

The Warlock was a man of romance as well, and during his lifetime, he had sired numerous Witches from his seven beloved wives, and life went on splendidly for them all.

Until old age hit him hard.

The Warlock just like any other mortal, was not exempted from the fickle ravages of time. During that time, there was still no magic for prolonging one's life and achieving immortality.

Not that he wanted to delve on that particular field of forbidden magic, even if he was fully capable of doing so. The Warlock merely wished for a simple life after the war, but fate had other plans and the people needed a ruler to guide them in the troubling times of the post-war era.

Thus, he was content when he was on his deathbed, surrounded by his wives, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Nothing made him happier, honestly. Life was really good

Although such life was not one without regrets. How he wished he could reunite with his Demon friend once more, the one who made this all possible and turned him from a simple farmer to the legendary Warlock King of Grayhart.

"Lilith, if only you were here. How I wish you were here and would meet the entire family."

That was his last quiet words before willingly succumbing himself to the cold yet sweet embrace of death.

But Fate was a bitch and once again, the tides of conflict called on him once more, for his duty as the Warlock was not yet concluded.
