Chapter 1: The Accident
On a September day, above the city, the deep blue sky was vast and clear. Thin strips of clouds were like scarves that spread across the sky. The cool autumn breeze carried a sweet scent of flowers.
But in just a moment, the beautiful scenery was destroyed by an unexpected event.
Down on the streets, a chase was taking place. A pickup truck was racing ahead, followed by two police cars trying to catch up. Above them was a 16-year-old girl with long hair that reached her hips. Two unidentified objects on her head formed horns, and she wore a tight-fitting blue armor that helped her soar through the air using a spiraling energy from her legs.
Even higher up was a Western dragon dressed in traditional Chinese Cheongsam. It constantly spoke in human language from its mouth.
"Yin and Yang, stop the car before someone gets hurt. You cant run forever" it warned.
"Shut up, you wretched creature! Do you think we will surrender that easily? We just want some money, not harming people. Why don't you just let us go ?" retorted someone from the pickup truck. It was clear that they would not back down.
Ryukyu, who was in the sky, gritted her teeth 'They are difficult to handle. They have chosen a narrow path, making it challenging for me to attack them in this state. With their high speed, Nerije cannot risk attacking them, or it could endanger the lives of those in the car. If they crash into surrounding buildings, the consequences would be even worse. We can only rely on Snatch's ambush or the luck of them running out of gas, which is unlikely.'
Yin and Yang are twin brothers. One could accelerate any object he touched, while the other could reinforce any object he touched. Together, they were formidable opponents. The only downside was that both had to be in contact for their powers to work.
Right now the brothers were having their own discussion inside the car.
"Brother, why don't we just drive straight through the buildings? Won't that be faster and force them to stop and deal with the damage? ..." said one of them.
*Bop*
The answer to him was a slap to the back of his head. "Do you think dealing with the ninth-ranked superhero in all of Japan is easy? From the beginning until now, we have left the police and the little blue-haired kid far behind, but she can still easily keep up. The reason she doesn't attack is that she's too cautious about the collateral damage. If we dare to attack now, she won't hold back anymore." Yang, the eldest brother and clearly the brains behind the campaign, spoke seriously.
"So what should we do now? Should we just keep going like this forever?"
"Obviously not. Do you think I made a plan without preparing a backup plan? Don't worry, there will be more reinforcement in a few minutes. Who knows, we might even be able to kill those superheroes in reverse. Hahahaha...." Yang couldn't help but burst out laughing.
Seeing this, Yin also understood and kept praising him: "Big brother is truly like a god, just a few superheroes can't make things difficult for you...."
In Yin's mind, he couldn't help but think of the scene where the two women were being pin to the ground, tied up to satisfy their perverted desires, especially the little blue-haired girl. Just thinking about her was enough to make him act up.
Perhaps bad people will receive bad karma, or maybe the gods were disgusted by their thoughts. Just when they were most pleased with themselves, an accident occurred.
From the middle of the air, a person fell straight down onto the top of Yin and Yang's car, shattering the front windshield and causing Yin to lose control of the steering wheel, causing the car to crash into a nearby house.
Fortunately, it was currently 8 a.m., and most people had left their homes for work or school. Unfortunately for Yin and Yang, their car had overturned, and their helmets were both cracked from the collision and pain spread through their body.
Struggling to get out of the car, Yang quickly regained his composure, grasping Yin's hand, turned on his super speed, and moving towards the perpetrator of the incident - a masculine figure in black armor with several injuries and covered in blood.
Yang quickly grabbed him and hold a gun to the man's head. "Don't come any closer unless you want me to finish off this guy."
"Don't do anything foolish, Yang. Stay calm and let him go. Harming innocent people will not benefit you." the creature's body exuded a powerful aura, she stood tall and proud as the female hero known as Ryukyu.
"Do you think I'm so stupid, you wretch? If I let him go, I won't be able to take even 2 steps . Now back away and tell the police to prepare a new car for me. When I've gone far enough, I'll automatically release this guy."
At this point, the police and Nejire had also arrived, witnessing the scene before them, but they didn't understand what had happened.
No need to mention them, even Ryukyu didn't understand what had happened. During the pursuit, someone suddenly fell from the sky, coincidentally landing on the car of the two criminals and being taken hostage by them.
Looking at the wounds and bloodstains, it was clear that this person had just been in a battle, perhaps using their teleportation ability to escape the battlefield at the last minute.
'In the end, what kind of bad luck must one have to encounter such a series of unfortunate events?'
'Stop your foolish thoughts, this is not the right moment' She then lowered her voice and negotiated with the criminals, trying to prolong the time, hoping they wouldn't do anything stupid before Snatch arrived to rescue.
Yang clearly disliked this, bored with pointless arguing, Yang point the gun at the back of the unlucky guy's shoulder, where the armor had torn, ignoring the hero's screams. "You damn dog, it's all your fault. If it weren't for you, we could have escaped easily. Want to blame, just blame your unlucky fate. Now I'll let you feel some suffering. Wait until I escape from here, then I'll slice you into pieces."
*Bang*
The moment the gunshot was heard, silence fell over the entire area, not because of how brutal the scene was, but because..... the one hit by the bullet was not the unlucky guy but Yang.
Fresh blood continued to flow from his chest wound, and Yang held his chest with a bewildered expression, "I clearly shot him, wtf just happened?"
