Chapter 9 - Chapter Nine

"Good morning Father" I say, walking into father's unnecessarily large office space.

"Went out with Anna again?" He asks

"You called for me, it's about Taylor again, isn't it?" I ask staring straight at him, watching how he averted my gaze and his expression turned sour.

"You're getting married" Father says and i stare at him in shock. I know I should've expected this but i thought I had a little more time. My parents know they'll be ruining my life by making me marry Taylor.

Who's Taylor?

Only the biggest jerk in the entire world. Heir to the Wright's fortune and my bethroted. My family, the Zager's, and Taylor's family, the Wright's have been at each others throats since forever. Our company's are on par with each other and are always at loggerheads. Even the employees of both companies detest each other. But according to my 'mother', who by the way, believes she's always right, getting me married to Taylor would mean merging our companies together and then boom! Both companies would be on the same level with Lee corporation, the biggest enterprise in America, North America actually, and their headquarters is located right here in California.

"What?! Dad! I thought you said you'd give me time!" I say, my voice now at an higher pitch than before.

"That was three years ago, you're not growing any younger, it's time for you to really grow up, you're twenty-six not sixteen. Besides, the longer we delay, the bigger Lee enterprise gets" My dad says and I look at him in anger.

"So that's what this is about? You just want to take down Lee enterprise, right? Have you ever wondered what my life would be like after marrying that idiot?!"

"He's your husband to be! You have to respect him!"

"Never! I will never become anyone's trophy wife, and even if I do, Taylor is definitely not worthy" I say staring into his eyes.

"You're getting married to him and that's final" Father says, staring at me this time and I plopped down on the couch in despair.
