Chapter 356 - 35. Yesterday Once More.

I then proceeded to Damon; now, this one had no interest in me. I couldn't care less about his attitude. He fought his own battles fiercely, his fists clenched with determination, and then made his way to the car to wait. The air was thick with tension, but there was no need to suppress the rage; he showed no concern for whether or not I displayed it.

Arriving at the house, he made calls to women, their sultry voices filling the room as he indulged in phone sex, his hand moving vigorously. Meanwhile, I was at a gig, detached from it all. His anger flared when he discovered I had spent time with Adam, but I expected this and refused to let it escalate into drama. He fed me, yet his eyes never once met my injured body as he remained fixated on the phone, his hand still occupied.

I focused solely on the mission at hand. During my time with Damon, I embarked on four exhilarating blasting missions, but I deliberately excluded him from any involvement. It was the wrong approach, but these missions were a thrilling success. He had the wrong attitude, and I didn't want the risk that Damien could surface if Damon got angry enough. Or guilty enough.

Relief washed over me when I departed with Charles. However, the rush gigs returned. I found myself in Greece, an old hotel I had bought. As I glanced at my phone, Charles drove to the yard. Our club wouldn't be up until the day after tomorrow, and all other matters were already taken care of.

I had flea work coming all the time, and I did it a lot when I was with Damon. Fine, another rescue mission awaited; this one wouldn't be as easy as it was on an island. It required meticulous planning, but fortunately, a boat was prepared. I was talking on the phone, listening as one of my planners in Greece told me about this job. This would not be easy, and timing is essential again. I absorbed the crucial mission details, jotting them down, unaware that Charles had entered my office.

When I ended the call, Charles said, "Don't worry, honey. I'll swiftly assemble a team. Our focus is now on the clubs, not rush missions."

I looked at Charles, ready to object, but his resolve silenced me. He took charge, seizing my work phone for the entire two weeks and forbidding me from undertaking any minor tasks. He became my right-hand man within the flea circles.

The same scenario played out at the clubs. I had to kill, not just consume their blood, but end my opponent's life. The rage management mode activated once again, and I couldn't allow my anger to simmer beneath the surface forever. I had to become an unrelenting beast.

With Magnum, we embarked on our mafia work, surrounded by the scent of danger. The dimly lit room was filled with the hushed whispers of the Italian Mafia. Now, for three intense months, I stood alongside Magnum, the weight of the task weighing heavily on our shoulders. The air was thick with tension as we sought to dismantle these criminal organizations.

As the days dragged on, relief came in the form of Adam and Charles, their footsteps echoing through the corridors as they joined our cause during their rare moments of respite. Together, we fought tirelessly, our efforts intertwined like an intricate dance. Despite their best efforts to shield me, I knew I had to be in the thick of it.

Taking down the mafia was a meticulous process, starting from the bottom rung of their hierarchy. We relentlessly pursued the foot soldiers, inching our way up the ladder until we finally reached the formidable head honcho. Each step forward brought heightened caution from the others. The bigger the boss I toppled, the more vigilant his underlings became.

The supreme boss, the pinnacle of our pursuit, proved to be the most elusive. Like a ghost, he remained hidden, barricaded within a secure sanctuary. Only when Magnum unveiled an innovative laser capable of slicing through impenetrable walls, could I finally unleash my vengeance.

We repeated this relentless process in two other locations, systematically dismantling the Italian, Russian, and Yakuza mafias. Our accomplishments weighed heavily on our weary shoulders, but we pressed on, fueled by determination.

With the mission complete, my comrades retired to rest, their worn bodies seeking solace. But for me, the job was far from over. I, still vibrant and full of energy, prepared to embark on my journey.

I weighed in at a lean 50 kilos, every muscle primed and ready for action. My loyal companion, Mimosa, shared my fervor. In certain clubs, where rules were mere suggestions, I released Mimosa, allowing her to navigate the treacherous terrain alongside me. Together, we faced the seedy underbelly of India, where venomous creatures thrived.

The air was thick with the acrid scent of danger, mingling with the pungent odor of fear. In these vicious snake fight clubs, venomous serpents, scorpions, and spiders writhed within the confines of the cage. The crowd's collective gasps and murmurs filled my ears as I entered the arena.

I felt the sting and bite of these toxic creatures, their venom coursing through my veins, but I refused to succumb. The pain fueled my determination, igniting a fiery rage within me. The future was a distant thought as I mercilessly annihilated my opponents, dispatching snakes, scorpions, and spiders alike.

Deep within me, I knew that Mirella, my confidante, had strategically stored molecules of these poisons within my body. They lay dormant, awaiting the perfect moment for me to unleash their deadly potential.

I had spent a week in India, and the absence of men chasing after the mafias was apparent. I hadn't bothered to ask Mimosa where they had gone. So, it was a surprise when I arrived at my house and found Damon sitting there, patiently awaiting my return.

As I walked in, I carelessly tossed my car keys onto the small table. I was covered in bites, the sensation of their sting still lingering in my breath after a damn spider had sunk its fangs into my throat. But despite the discomfort, my anger propelled me forward. I knew I needed some time to recover before the next club engagement.

As I entered, Damon sniffed the air and let out a weary sigh. He said, "Alright, missy. Set aside your rage and come along. I've organized the medbay. Let's see what I can do about those toxins."

Ah, his doctor mode. He casually held a syringe in his hand as if it were an everyday occurrence. I couldn't completely suppress my anger when I needed to function. I knew my blood wasn't clotting, and my weight had dropped despite having no appetite. Fine, let's play the role of a dutiful wife and proceed.

I followed Damon to the well-stocked medbay. It boasted a medicine cabinet filled to the brim with various medications. He had been working on it during the fourteen hours I had spent at the club. I undressed and settled on the edge of the bed, clad only in my undershirt and underpants.

Damon glanced at me momentarily and instructed, "Strip completely and lie down. I'll examine you. It's not your fault."

I complied with his request. He delicately examined me, observing the bite marks and puncture wounds. He grunted as he ran his hands over my body. Then, he drew a sample of my blood and sniffed it. My blood failed to clot, prompting him to release a few drops of his own to conceal the puncture mark.

He remarked, "You're in a terrible state, but luckily, you have a week before your next club engagement, right?"

I focused on my breathing and simply nodded. He continued, "Perfect time for a little dental treatment. My teeth are itching to get your neck, missy. It's the quickest way to rid your system of the myriad of toxins. You don't need to accumulate such poisons, regardless of how enticing their molecules may be."

He didn't ask; he stated. Approaching the bed, he shifted me to the side, positioned himself beside me, and sank his teeth into my neck. I could feel them anchoring themselves, and then the velvet sensation spread. It was time to drift into slumber.

When I awoke, the medbay was empty. A note on the bedside table read, "The poisons have been eradicated. At least for now, until you encounter new ones. There are digestors in your blood that can handle them. Take care. Damon."

I had been in a deep slumber for five days, and my body was finally restored after the exhausting gig. As I slowly awakened, I could feel the lingering heaviness in my stomach, a result of devouring copious amounts of visceral puree. Perhaps, I thought, I wouldn't feel so terrible after this mission.

The gig continued for another five months, three months deep within the dense jungle. Mimosa, my companion, and I would often venture into the wild, searching for herbs. However, as time went on, Mimosa wandered off on her own, leaving me to navigate the wilderness alone. We still worked together, gathering herbs when we could, but the jungle was teeming with many creatures, from venomous lizards to an array of buzzing insects.

One particular challenge was when we had to wade through the waters of the Amazon, searching for specific aquatic plants. The water was alive with countless creatures, and Mimosa's eyes lit up as she spotted vibrant aquarium fish swimming alongside us. Since this was our final jungle excursion, I decided to catch some fish for us. It was a way to show my appreciation for Mimosa's hard work throughout our demanding expedition. There was then something less nice in that water, too, like, say, parasites and bacteria.

Following our time in the Amazon, I was eager to indulge in something truly marvelous and perfect. I wouldn't mind embarking on another tour with Damon, as he had promised that our next adventure would include concerts, romantic dinners, and quality time as a couple.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, I managed to leave the Amazon behind. Carrying bags filled with plants and fish, I left some of them in nearby houses during our exchanges. At least the fish had been placed in safe hands, thanks to Mimosa's special powers that ensured their survival. She had given them mimosa power to make sure they survived the whole time.

Physically drained and weighed down at 41 kilos, my body adorned with rashes and sores, I longed for respite. With aching muscles and an incessant itch, I sought refuge in Chicago. I arrived at the empty house and made a beeline for my bedroom. Stripping off my clothes, I crawled into bed without even bothering to shower. Exhaustion washed over me, and I succumbed to a deep and much-needed slumber.

I didn't know that Adam would know that I had arrived. As I entered our house, the security systems beeped, and I realized that Adam receives an alert every time someone enters. We each had our own codes, so he immediately saw that I had gone to Chicago. He wasted no time in informing Samuel of my whereabouts.

Samuel swiftly made his way into the house and found me in a deep slumber, my body covered in a bothersome rash. The room was filled with the sharp scent of antiseptic. Without hesitation, Samuel retrieved a cocktail of medication from the medbay and injected it directly into my heart, carrying me swiftly to receive further treatment.

The following month became a haze as I slept, my body recovering from the injuries sustained in the unforgiving jungle. The lingering aroma of medicinal plants filled the air, their healing properties hampered by certain plants that hindered my progress. Despite this setback, the parasites that had plagued me gradually disappeared as my condition improved.

In a show of support, both Adam and Damon arrived. Damon provided me with an assortment of dental products when Samuel handed him a vial containing my blood sample. The chapter of hardship had come to an end, and now I stood prepared for whatever life had in store for me.
