Chapter 357 - 36. Don't Talk, Just Kiss.

I woke up in my upstairs bedroom, greeted by the warm glow of sunlight streaming through the open curtains. As I lay in bed, I could hear the joyful melodies of birdsong and feel the gentle caress of a summer breeze. The exhaustion from a demanding gig had dissipated, leaving me refreshed.

Stretching out in bed, I realized my nakedness, but it didn't faze me. However, my tranquil thoughts were interrupted by a low growl emanating from the door. My husband, Damon, stood there, his figure illuminated by the sunlight, giving him an almost angelic aura. I playfully pulled the sheet over my head and pouted seductively, meeting his gaze.

Damon chuckled softly and approached me. He grabbed an infrared thermometer from the shelf and took my temperature, grunting in approval.

"You're fine," he declared. "Go wash up and then join me for a meal."

With that, he turned and walked away.

Squirming in bed for a moment, I finally gathered myself and headed for a shower. The warm water cascaded over me, washing away any remnants of fatigue. After dressing in a white silk dress, black lace panties, and a red bra, I put my long, blood-red hair in a bun that Damon despised. It delighted me to defy his preferences now that our arduous job was finally behind us.

Ascending the stairs, I entered a storage room and retrieved blood-red silk sheets and new pillowcases. Returning to our bedroom, I made the bed with care. One last touch remained - I played "Eternal Flame" on my phone, filling the room with a fragrant atmosphere. I was determined to entice Damon into indulging in some intimate time together.

As I made my way downstairs, I found Damon, Adam, Bran, and Samuel gathered in the kitchen. Without hesitation, I approached Damon, kissing him passionately, my desire clear. His gaze lingered on me for a moment before he growled in my ear, "Looks like the little vixen is on a roll. Let's see what we do after food."

I caught a whiff of his arousal as he made me sit down and brought a generous spread of food before me. With each bite, Damon hovered close, nibbling at my ear and neck, igniting my senses. We shared the meal, Bran glaring at us disapprovingly while Adam was occupied with Mimosa's seduction. Damon sensually released my hair, tearing it open, and indulged in drinking my blood. Though the temptation was strong, I refrained from drinking inappropriately, knowing he still held sway over my vampire side.

Eventually, we finished our feast, our hunger for sustenance replaced by an insatiable thirst for each other. In that moment, we were unstoppable, united in our primal desires.

I left the table and ran upstairs ahead; I heard Damon's footsteps behind me, and my arousal only grew; I felt how fucking wet I was. Then I innocently walked with my dress still on to lie on the bed, on top of the silk sheets. After a moment, Damon's footsteps were heard, and he approached the room.

He stopped at the door, looked at me and the bed, and walked over to me, lust in his eyes. He ripped the dress and underwear off me, stripped himself, and showed me what he could do. Now, there were no fight clubs, no gigs, nothing but the two of us, and we had to have each other.

We stayed upstairs because I tuned my husband up pretty damn well, and we had a great three weeks there. Again, that wonderful time, wonderful memories.

I lay on top of Damon, all sweaty once more, listened to his heartbeat, which had calmed down by now, and said, "I'm so fucking happy. Right here, right now. This is so fucking perfect."

Damon was grunting. I looked at him; he was happy but exhausted, and I looked at him and said, " Do you know what those grunts of yours do to me, oh my darling husband? But I've been too demanding a wife, and you've fucked yourself to exhaustion..."

Damon smiled and said, "I don't know if I've even started fucking yet, but if my wife is lovely, you'll show me what my grunts do..."

I leaned into a slightly better position and let my legs go on either side of Damon's body so that my wet cunt was pressed against his stomach. I started kissing him with a brutal passion, then sat up. I moved myself first against him, making myself aroused as my clit ground against his muscles, then when he was getting pretty ready, I stood up a little higher, reached down and guided his thick huge cock straight to my pussy lips.

I pierced myself into his thick, hard, ready cock and descended slowly, enjoying the stretch and burn it caused before always stretching and relaxing. I kept my muscles tight and always descended and ascended slowly. However, as my husband was not a very patient creature, the momentary tiredness had completely disappeared from his expression. Damon grabbed me by the hips and pulled me all the way to the bottom at once. Then he pulled my upper torso and kissed me possessively, spinning me beneath him as he did so. He fucked my brains out once again. Our passion knew no bounds.

We stood under the warm water, feeling its gentle cascade on our skin, before finally settling in each other's arms on the plush couch downstairs. I nestled into his embrace, a sense of pure contentment washing over me as his fingers traced delicate patterns on my skin.

The world outside seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of us in a bubble of happiness. No words were needed; our presence was enough. At that moment, I sent him Bertie Higgins' Casablanca, a song that perfectly captured the depth of my love for him. We had shared an incredible month together, and I was unsure what more I could want. The perfection of this moment was undeniable: a sanctuary where I felt cherished and shielded from any harm.

Yet, I knew all too well that my happiness always came at a cost. The greater the joy, the higher the price. Fate would inevitably remind me of this truth.

Suddenly, Bran and Adam appeared in the house, interrupting our bliss. Bran took a seat in an armchair and jokingly reminded us we had work to do. Reluctantly, we untangled ourselves and made our way to the kitchen. Bran informed me of a new job opportunity, a chance to be a keeper and even a vet at the Bronx Zoo. I nodded, a mixture of intrigue and disappointment. It could be an interesting gig, but I would have preferred to be with Damon.

The next day, I embarked on a drive while Damon embarked on an intelligence-gathering mission involving one of his ex-girlfriends. As I drove towards the Bronx, the scenery outside blurred past me, the sound of the engine humming in my ears.

Damon looked disapproving when Bran mentioned his ex-girlfriend's name. Apparently, Bran had received information linking her to Sark, making her a valuable target for Damon's seduction skills. Although their relationship seemed strained, the significance of the mission motivated him.

I couldn't help but find amusement in the situation as I continued my journey. Damon assured me he would stay in touch throughout his mission. Before parting ways, he kissed me with a passion that left me breathless, not knowing where he was headed.

I had my own problems, my mind consumed by thoughts of Mimosa. She had been distant during the Europe gig, and now, with rest time approaching, her presence lingered even more intensely. The looming full moon in five days only heightened my irritation, a feeling that always plagued me during such times. Yet, the importance of the gig compelled me to maintain control.

For me, this experience was pure pleasure. The predators seemed to respect my presence instinctively, and the felines, in particular, behaved exceptionally well. It seemed that my feline side was influencing their behavior. As I walked and lifted, I marveled at how my body, in good shape, effortlessly carried out the tasks. It was exhilarating to come up with new ways to stimulate the animals and keep them engaged.

We were about to tend to the lions, preparing their enclosure while observing their magnificent presence. The largest and most striking male lion approached the side of the cage, playfully flopping onto his back, exuding an endearing goofiness. He followed my every step, emitting a peculiar rumbling sound that resembled purring. He nuzzled against the wall like he would want to push me, leaving his scent behind, marking his territory to ensure I acknowledged his presence.

Amidst the laughter of my fellow caretaker, I curiously asked, "What's so funny?"

After a moment of amusement, they replied, "You're being seduced. That male lion's vocalizations are what he uses to attract females in heat. He's marking his territory, making sure you know he's here."

The realization struck me, and I briefly considered experiencing such a primal attraction. However, I quickly dismissed the idea, realizing it was not the right time for such an encounter. I was just, in passing, wondering if I was getting in the heat myself. Did he smell it?

II messaged Damon about it, and he said he'd come and castrate the strange males if they were still seductive. I messaged him back, my fingers trembling over the keys, and asked if I was getting the heat. He didn't reply at all to that message.

Days went by, and I enjoyed my work immensely, but the silence hung heavy, and there was no sound of his reply. Our intense messaging had waned, and a week passed with fewer and fewer messages. Some of my own messages failed to deliver, a frustrating glitch in our connection.

Two weeks into my gig, I was making my way towards the snow leopard enclosure when I caught sight of Damon. At first, a flicker of hope ignited within me, thinking he had come to see me, but reality struck hard. He was with another woman, a fiery-haired beauty. They wandered the zoo together, their presence a betrayal to my heart.

As a masochist, I had my own secret trails and hidden pathways. I followed them, my footsteps silent as I eavesdropped on their conversation. Damon's voice reached my ears, filled with a mix of disappointment and longing.

"Me and Mimi... It's Petra, you know, sluggish. I can't find another way to describe it. But now that I've been with you, I see how dull it is with her. It's like she's given up with no fight left. She knows there's nothing between us anymore. She'll give me a divorce. There's no spark left, none at all."

Shock coursed through me, a wave of anguish crashing over my soul. We had shared a blissful month, and now he claimed it was all dull. The spark had vanished, leaving me wounded and betrayed. Tears welled up, stinging my eyes as I cursed the pain that tore through my heart. Yet, I couldn't tear myself away, compelled to witness their every move. How could he?

They reached a marble bench by a romantic fountain, the gentle sound of water trickling adding to the bittersweet atmosphere. Damon knelt before Petra, a glimmering ring in his hand, a symbol of his proposal. He promised her the world, even the chance to become a wolf, his soul mate. Bran, the alpha, would surely welcome her into his pack. And I, well, I didn't care.

Then Damon spoke, his words piercing my wounded heart. He spoke of my closeness with Adam and how Adam and I shared a spark that he could never replicate. All I wanted was Adam, not him, and he knew it. He was again pulling my and Adam's relationship into this, and it had nothing to do with that. I do not know how he felt our connection was dull, boring, and limp. Didn't he love me anymore?

I spent the entire day going through the motions, feeling like a robot in my job. During it all, I sent a text to Damon urging him to bring the divorce papers to the house that night and promising him relief from his own lethargy. My life had never been dull, unlike his. Adam was currently with Isabella, and they seemed to do well. It was important for me to clarify that I was not with Adam.

Unable to stay at the gig longer, I abruptly left and headed to the house. Once there, I gathered Bran, Samuel, and Adam and disclosed everything to them. Adam's girlfriend was nowhere to be found. Seeking solace, I retreated to my bedroom downstairs, where I aimlessly stared at the wall. Adam entered the room and informed me that Damon had arrived with the papers.

We were in my newly gained mansion in New York, a stunning and spacious place adorned with flower columns and luxurious furnishings. But now, the grandeur seemed irrelevant. My heart crumpled into a tiny, black ball inside my chest. I had created a love nest upstairs for Damon and me, but the thought of it was unbearable.

Summoning all my strength, I steeled myself, wishing to shut off my emotions. Yet, despite my efforts, I couldn't escape the overwhelming sadness that engulfed me. Fine, let's go then. At least this time, I wouldn't have to wake up to this agony, and I could confront Damon directly, looking him straight in the eye.
