Mages and knights' strengths were everything in their countries, people fought for the sake of having power and some fought to raise their families' standings, and gain connections, and there was someone who even killed because they thought it was fun.
For the arenas that were in Lemore Academy, there were multiple dome-shaped arenas that dotted the academy arena. The structure of each dome was enough to hold even the highest rank spell without breaking or shattering and the interior of each dome-shaped arena was roughly two hundred meters, with audience seats built all around the space that held the arenas.
In the first arena, Shito Mahinu and Tenka Vermillion stood meters apart from each other with Tina in between them as the referee, above them were students from all different grades trying to see what the girl from the Vermillion family was capable of. They heard of the duel between the new student and the Vermillion princess, and they had to come and watch it.
"Hey, isn't that the princess of one of the biggest families!?" a third-year student said looking over at the two who were standing ten paces away from each other in the arena. He wondered why someone from a higher-ranking family would be fighting against someone of a lower social class.
Another student looked at the third-year student and didn't say a word, the man shouldn't even have asked if that was the vermillion princess, because her hair color gave it away, red hair was a common trait in the vermillion family.
"Why is she fighting with that beautiful boy though!? What kind of trouble could he have possibly caused on his first day!" a female second-year student blurted out as she was staring at Shito's handsome face.
"I don't know but whatever he did, it must've really ticked her off because she doesn't look like she is in the mood to play around." Another female second-year student said as she was staring down at them.
Everyone in the arena was watching them and wondered what they were even fighting for, it seemed like neither of them knew the other so the fighting between them was pointless
Miss Tobiichi looked at the two students standing in front of her and smiled, "Are you two ready to start this fight?" she asked the two students who were still staring at each other
Both of the students simply nodded their heads because no more talking was needed between them, while one was focused on winning the battle, the other one was ready to go home to sleep.
Shito just looked at Tenka who was standing before him ready to fight him with everything she had. She was ready to sacrifice herself to save her class even if it meant she had to die in the process. Too many people have lost their lives saving her, and she would be damned if she let it happen again while she was still breathing
"Since you are ready! LET THE BATTLE BEGIN!!"
Thus, the start of the battle between the princess of the Vermillion family and the transfer student had started.
"Haaaaaa!!"
After the match started, Tenka rushed at Shito with full force, swinging her fist and trying her best to connect one, to an untrained person it might have looked like she was blindly rushing in when she was a mage but to others, it was powerful strikes that people in the vermillion family learn.
None of her movements stood a chance in the eyes of Shito, who observes everything and copies it just by looking at it. He was dodging and parrying every single attack that she threw at him
"Damnnnn Ittttt! Why can I not hit you?!"
The girl asked frustrated wondering why she couldn't even lay a single hit on him, but then she quickly started to figure out that she was still holding back her attacks unconsciously, it was a defense mechanism that stopped her from hurting anyone once she decided to fight
But before she noticed anything she was sent flying by a powerful kick that Shito hit her with, it was so fast and swift that it went unnoticed by her until she was sent flying away
Argghhhh! What the hell...!! Was that whatever it was it was so fast that the human eye couldn't even see it!
Shito already predicted that she was holding back, and he wanted to push her to the next level, fighting someone who wasn't even using their full strength would have been boring to him, so he was trying his best to hold back all the power that was dwelling inside of him
Tenka got up from the ground and summoned a sword in the palm of her hand, which was the color of darkness and flames started to burst from her body, heating up the whole arena, beyond that of the temperature that would be present in a volcano.
From what I heard this isn't the only element that the princess of the Vermillion family can use, I heard she could wield all four of the main magic elements and they are at the highest rank, while being at the highest rank she still hasn't trained enough for her elements to reach full potential.
She rushed at Shito with the sword that was in her hand, and she swung with full force, but even with her being as fast as she was, to no avail was her sword able to reach him, possibly going past the speed of light, nothing seemed to be enough to reach him.
Shito jumped back, putting some distance between him and Tenka, her attacks were doing nothing not even one managed to scratch his clothes
The mana that was in the area started to surround her sword and she slightly lifted it up over her head, charging up one of the most powerful fireballs that ever existed. Meaning that she was condensing her mana to the purest form to make the purest and strongest flames.
But would that be enough to put him down completely, the answer was no, she would need more things to finally beat him
The fireball that she was charging up was finally filled with enough mana and the fireball was big, at least covering half of the dome-shaped arena
Although I'm still holding my power back, this should be enough to crush you once and for all! I cannot let you get in the way of my school life!
It was making her angry. Tenka hadn't ever had a normal life. Everything she ever did was for her family's sake, all the training she did not stop to become one of the talented mages. People say that was only because of the talent she had but that was really true. No, it wasn't, she trained even harder than the people who were present in the school, training non-stop to receive them so she could be rewarded with the strength she had
But with all the harsh training she did… Tenka never gave up. She knew that if she was strong enough to endure it then one day, she would have a life that was only for her, a life where she could control her own destiny. To become a mage that craves her own fate, becoming one of the top mages in the world Sara Mahinu is a woman that was strong enough to protect everything that was dear to her. So, after years of aspiring to be a top mage, she mastered all four of the great elements.
"...Here take this!" She shouted as she held the big fireball over her head, and she started to float into the area. She was using wind magic to push her body off the ground
The big ball of fire that was in her hand was getting bigger and bigger and she looked at Shito, the person who still hadn't moved from the spot he was standing in since the start of the battle.
He was not sweating, and he didn't even look scared, he just stood there with one of the calmest expressions, a face that screamed out he was not scared of anything and everything she did was useless
"Super Nova!" She shouted as she hurled the ever-expanding fireball at Shito in hopes of it hitting him. The fireball was big, and it covered half of the arena, it was something that nobody could hope to escape from.
Shito looked at the fireball that a vastly approaching him and he snapped his fingers, completely nullifying the spell that she worked too hard to charge up. There was nothing left of all the concentrated effort she put into charging up that fireball
The whole crowd was confused, they did not know what had happened to her attack, it was like it disappeared off the face of the earth. Was there even a way to completely nullify someone's magic?
No, she might think that attack was enough to beat me… but that is where she was completely wrong, I am a person who can wield several types of elements so simply nullifying someone's magic spell would be easier said than done. Though I might not be taking her seriously the best I could do is stop standing around and fight
Thus, this was the start of a battle between a genius mage and a transfer student who had just arrived at the school. Even though it was the first time they had met it surely was not going to be the last.
