"Huff, huff! I hope no one's chasing me anymore," Lucinda looked back for the last time to see whether she was safe or not.
She was breathing heavily which made her cough. Sweat coming from her forehead made her vision blur. She rubbed her eyes in order to get a clear view of the road.
Once she wiped her eyes, she sighed and was relaxed to know that no one was coming after her anymore. She then looked at her denim which was completely distressed as if someone had beaten her up.
Her right elbow was bleeding. She tried to wipe off the blood from her long grey tank top but couldn't do it properly. She was devastated.
Completely hopeless, she sat in the midst of the unknown road which seemed never ending. She inhaled while looking at the clear sky.
She wondered, "What have I done that I am deserving of all this. I haven't done anything wrong in life then why the hell I have to face this shitty thing. Please just stop this now. I can't bear it anymore."
Her tears couldn't stop anymore. She started crying out loud while hiding her face on her knees. No matter how much she cried, the pain didn't seem to go away. Her life was over. She didn't have anywhere to go.
After gathering some strength she tried to stand up. It took her some time to stand as her right ankle got fractured. Once she stood up she tried to walk towards the North. She walked almost a hundred metres but didn't know what was waiting for her.
She saw a turn so she quickly moved as she got relieved to see the light coming from an old warehouse. The moment she saw the warehouse she tried to run even though it was painful for her but she didn't give up.
She quickly went inside the warehouse and saw an old bulb hanging right in the midst of the ceiling. There were huge windows of glasses and through those glasses she was able to see the light.
She shouted, "Hello, is there anyone?"
She looked here and there but couldn't get any reply. She tried to ask for help one more time, "Hello!"
She heard something which startled her so she looked back. She looked at the main gate but couldn't see anyone out there. Weird sound came again and this time she was frightened.
A drop of a sweat touched her round shaped dark coloured eyebrow. She blinked. Once her eyes were opened she was surprised to find a cat sitting right in front of her.
Lucinda became happy as soon as she saw the cat. She tried to sit on her knees but it was too tough for her so she tried to stretch her one leg in order to sit and play with the cat.
The moment she sat the cay went close to her. Though the cat got scared at once but once Lucinda touched and patted her head the cat became friendly with her. It jumped on her lap which made Lucinda free of worries.
For a few moments Lucinda forgot what she was dealing with. While she was playing with the cat, a creak sound was heard. She tried to look back and saw the old door of the warehouse.
She wondered, "This door seems quite old maybe because of the wind it's making this sound. Weird, the bulb is on but no one's here.
Maybe this cat belonged to the owner of the warehouse. I am sure the owner will be here soon. It would be wise if I rest here for sometime."
She went looking here and there and the moment she found herself safe she sat down on the haystacks. The moment she sat she fell asleep as she was exhausted. She was having a sound sleep.
A few hours later, she opened her eyes and didn't realise where she was. The moment she woke up she wasn't able to open her eyes as sun rays were piercing her eyes which made her unable to get a clear vision.
She noticed that the door of the warehouse was open. She sensed that there's something fishy. She tried to stand but she figured that her legs and hands were tied up with a rope. Her heart reaching fast, she sensed the danger all over again.
She tried to look on both sides but couldn't find anyone. She wanted to shout but her mouth was closed with duct tape. She was having trouble breathing. She started dragging her feet like crazy in order to get rid of the trap but she couldn't.
Every time she tried she failed. After a few attempts she fell on the ground and got herself hurt. Her chair fell on her right side and she could see only the entrance of the warehouse.
She was still and kept on trying to look outside the entrance of the door but the only thing which was visible was sunlight. A few moments later she heard someone coming.
She was alert and still liked the water. She didn't utter a single thing. She noticed someone wearing wooden brown leather boots with skinny light shade blue denim. She couldn't recognise the person with his feet.
She wanted to look up but couldn't as it was difficult for her to move. She tried to look up with her eyes only but she was only able to see his shirt which was of solid white colour. He had fair complexion.
Though she sensed who he was, she prayed that it shouldn't be him or else she would be doomed for sure. She closed her eyes tightly and started praying to God to save her.
While she was praying the guy held her chair and made her sit properly on the chair. She was scared to the bottom of her heart. Her body started shivering. She didn't want to open her eyes.
