I breathed deeply and scanned the room that Christian and I shared. It was pitch black.
We were all set to put on a show. We had to make Christian think that Shadow was attempting to suck me dry. That way, he would rush to my rescue and mate with me.
I just hoped that the plan worked and Christian came back. I longed for him so much, his warm hug, his tender kiss, his protective snarl. He was my alpha mate, the one who had marked me as his own without mating with me. But he had also spurned me when he discovered that I was also linked to Shadow, the vampire prince.
