The previously hostile and terrifying wyvern was now fearfully looking at Z. It could clearly sense that the latter was the bane of its existence, hence the innate fear. Once it noticed that the field Lumen created was slowly chipping away at its power, it tried its best to fly and escape, but it was to no avail as the field was locked on it and kept it at bay. From here, everything was simple. Z just dodged the attacks of the wyvern until it succumbed to Lumen's power.
Ashe was staring at the entire event in complete disbelief. She was terrified after seeing the wyvern as she could clearly feel the power it held, but seeing Z casually defeating it made her think otherwise. Her perception of Z's power was completely broken by the battle she was seeing.
'I guess this is possible since the opponent was an Abyssal. His power is similar to those from the Zen Continent which makes it significantly more potent to an Abyssal. If he were to fight another person, say, Lea, it would not be this one-sided,' Ashe concluded in her thoughts.
The fight dragged on for a while, but it looked like a matador fighting a bull. You just know that at some point, the monster will get slaughtered. True enough, once the Pure Land removed most of the power within the wyvern caused by the disorder, it was easy enough for Z to kill it.
"This is why you should never put your faith in the power of disorder. If you, wyvern, had honed your own strength, this would have been very different, but instead, you died like a pig. When the corrupted power was gone, you were helpless and vulnerable," Z said out loud to the wyvern, but Ashe knew that Z would not say those words to the dead for nothing. She understood that it was meant for her.
Z then returned to Ashe and drew the Grand Rune of Truth which made the latter's eyes wide. 'It is not hard to believe this anymore,' Ashe thought. Normally, she would be shocked, but after what she just witnessed, she thought it was just fitting.
"I vow to the Grand Rune of Truth that I, Ashe Ehelio, shall not reveal a single detail about the events that transpired from the moment before we witnessed the Abyss Cursed Wyvern until the moment I finish this oath," Ashe said without even waiting for Z to tell her what to do.
"Thank you, Ashe."
"I was just afraid that you will kill me if I do not," Ashe said with a sly smile.
"They should finish by tomorrow. Shall we continue venturing?" Z said, changing the subject.
"Sure."
Meanwhile, Noel heaved a sigh of relief after feeling the great force from before vanish. However, he was still uncertain about the condition of the two as the vanishment of the power could mean two things. "Ashe is there, I am sure they are fine," Noel assured himself.
The next morning, the sun had already shone when the students inside the cave finally came out. They looked rejuvenated and more powerful than before. If Z was here, he would notice how the Laws around them are more noticeable than before. Consequently, Z and Ashe arrived almost at the same time they came out which finally removed the heavy feeling on Noel's heart.
"I knew you would be safe," Noel said with a sigh of relief. "You did a good job, Ashe."
'Good job, huh? If that is so, I wonder what kind of job Z did,' Ashe thought, but she thanked Noel instead so as to not raise any suspicion about Z.
"This should be the end of our exploration inside The Unexplored Word. It is a pity that Z and Ashe did not benefit from this," Noel said, thinking of a way to remedy the situation.
"Do not worry, sir. We are fine," Z said.
"Still, the two of you need to power up even more. You, as well as your fellow students here, are the hope of our branch for the Celestial Welcome," Noel said, still thinking of what to give them.
"Where are we heading next, sir?" Lea asked.
"We will be returning to the academy to prepare you for the event at the end of the seventh month, Celestial Selection."
"Oh? So the famed Celestial Selection will be happening two months from now! That is exciting," Lea said with a wide smile.
"What is the Celestial Selection, Lady Lea?" Gale asked.
"It is when all of the Violet Class' students of The Celestial Academy visit the main academy. There, a grand event will happen where the students get to pair with a Celestial Constant," Lea explained.
'This is it. My master told me that this is one of the benefits of The Celestial Academy, getting a Celestial Constant,' Z thought in glee.
"What is a Celestial Constant, Lady Lea?" Gale continued.
"It is an additional Celestial. This was the greatest contention during The Warring Era. In the end, it was decided that The World Force shall take ownership of the Celestial Land which was then given to The Celestial Academy. Although there were people who already had more than one Celestial, it was still the greatest resource in The Known World," Lea continued.
While they were discussing, Noel suddenly had a realization that made him frown. "I am afraid you cannot go," Noel said to Gale.
"Why, sir?" Noel asked but it was not just him who was bewildered.
"Since you did not come here with a Violet Admission Token, you cannot attend the Celestial Selection. You do not have enough status for it," Noel said with an ashamed look.
"What?" Z asked in protest, but the others already understood what happened.
"This is just how it works. The World Force would not let those from the bottom feed off them. That is why you need to have the status of a Violet Admission Token holder for you to get a Celestial Constant," Noel said.
'How painful,' Z thought.
