Chapter 42 - RELIVING HIS MISERY

RELIVING HIS MISERY

Jack was lost in the dream, savoring the moments he had with his sister. Each moment spent with Debbie was precious, and this memory was his sweetest.

They were at the annual teenager festival in Mexico, a tradition that the town had established for the coming of age of young adults, and Debbie had taken him along with her friends. The carnival was colorful and very interesting. There were plenty of teenagers like himself and his sister, there was free food and drinks for every participant.

Jack remembered feeling ecstatic, dancing salsa with Debbie as if they had done it a million times before and going for drink breaks in between the dance. He could feel the adrenaline dashing through his bloodstream, his young mind was at peace.

He had felt happy and carefree.

But just as suddenly, the dream changed from the festival where he was dancing happily with his sister to when he was holding her in his arms, it turned dark, and the atmosphere changed.

Jack felt the blood rush to his face as he relived the nightmare. He was holding Debbie in his arms on the floor in her room, and she was bleeding from her mouth. With a sense of dread, Jack realized that Debbie was dying. He felt panicky and helpless, as though he couldn't do anything to change the situation.

As he looked around, he saw the poison that Debbie had taken, and he realized that this was the end for her, she committed suicide.

For a moment, he was dazzled and confused, being that, that was the first time in his young life he was witnessing someone committing suicide.

Jack began to cry, and the tears washed over him like a torrential wave. His heart ached and the pain consumed him. It was as though he was in a trance, unable to break free from the grips of his suffering.

The dream was so vivid, that Jack could smell the scent of the festival in the air and feel the warmth of the sun on his skin. It was as though the dream was real, and he was there, in that moment, witnessing his sister's death once again.

Finally, he woke up, gasping for breath, sweat dripping down his forehead, and the tears still in his eyes. His heart still hurts, she died in his arms and there was nothing he could do, he felt useless as he relived the tragedy.

As he wiped his tears away, Jack reminded himself that Debbie was gone, but his memories of her would always remain, haunting him. He knew she would want him to move on and find happiness again. Jack took a deep breath, trying to control his emotions, and hoped that the pain would eventually lessen with time.

After so many years, it was still fresh in his head. He shook his head, trying to clear his thoughts of the dream he just dreamt.

Jack! someone called his name and he looked up.
