Chapter 30 - BEST FRIEND ALWAYS GOT MY BACK

BEST FRIEND ALWAYS GOT MY BACK

After closing from work, Lily went to Emelia's workplace at November Cafe. The cafe was extraordinarily beautiful, The lighting was soft and muted, with low-hanging pendant lamps and individual wall sconces creating a warm, intimate glow. Large windows flood the space with natural light, while potted plants and greenery provide a touch of organic beauty and freshness.

The walls are adorned with tasteful works of art, ranging from large murals to framed prints, all of which reflect the café's particular style and personality. Menus and special boards are also thoughtfully designed, incorporating playful fonts and expressive imagery to emphasize the café's unique character.

Lily had always loved coming to the cafe but not today, she was having conflicted feelings about the trip to Mexico. Lily looked across the table at her best friend Emelia. Emelia had been working as a waitress in the cafe for a few years now and was always happy to listen to Lily's concerns.

"I can't believe it, Emelia," Lily said, her voice shaking slightly. "Jack is taking me to Mexico to meet his mother."

Emelia's eyes widened with excitement. "That sounds amazing, Lily! Have you ever been to Mexico before?"

Lily shook her head. "No, I haven't. And I don't know how I feel about meeting his mother. What if she doesn't like me? What if we don't get along?"

Emelia reached across the table to take Lily's hand. "Don't worry, Lily. I'm sure everything will be fine. You just need to be yourself."

Lily frowned. "But what if Jack's family is different from mine? I mean, I don't know anything about Mexican culture."

Emelia nodded. "I understand your concern, Lily. But remember, you and Jack are not an item; you are just two individuals in a contractual relationship, and you are just there to enjoy yourself. You have always wanted a vacation and now is the opportunity. And if his family doesn't like you, that's their problem, not yours."

Lily considered Emelia's words and felt a sense of calm wash over her. "You're right, Emelia. I need to stop worrying and just enjoy the opportunity that Jack is giving me."

Emelia smiled. "Exactly! Mexico is a beautiful country and I'm sure you'll have an amazing time. And who knows, maybe you'll fall in love with the culture and want to learn more."

Lily grinned. "Maybe you're right. I do love trying new things. Thanks for always being there for me, Love you, Emelia."

Emelia squeezed Lily's hand. "Of course, Lily. That's what best friends are for. And I love you too"
