Before Max could even understand what was going on, she took a step back and allowed herself to fall freely into the pit of blue flames.
Max froze, not knowing if to laugh or cry. He was bare of any emotions as his gaze darted into the flames through which her body had disappeared. Did she just kill herself or there was more to that?

A tear dropped from her left eye as she closed her eyes, patiently waiting for her body to fall to the bottom of the aggressive pit of blue flames. Maybe this was the end after all. Her dream of becoming the ruler she had always wanted did come to pass, at least for a little while. She had tasted what it felt like to have people who would crawl to your feet and look up to you in worship and respect.
