Delaney's voice was filled with surprise and her eyebrows shot up subconsciously. Merikh's reaction was suspicious and she wondered if there was a part in the book where he killed everyone.
Merikh didn't answer her question when he realised she was just taunting him, and a sigh of relief threatened to leave his lips but his haw tightened to restrain it. Without meeting her inquisitive gaze, he resumed the task of applying ointment and this time he wasn't as gentle as before. His muscles were tense and Delaney could clearly feel the change.
"I've reached the part where Darcio kills Danika's lover— wait," she suddenly turned, almost forgetting that her chest was bare. "Danika is your mother, right?" She asked with uncertainty and Merikh nodded stiffly.
