Despite his irritation and annoyance, Merikh still stood up to follow Azalea out of the room. He was just about to get some sleep after several days of struggling and he knew that he'd have to go for another night and day without sleep.
Azalea walked into Delaney's room without knocking, and what greeted their eyes was Delaney sitting on the floor, dripping wax from the burning candles onto her fingers, while leaning her back against the bed.
The robe she had been wearing was on the bed and there was no other source of light apart from the candle in her hands, and the one on the bedside table.
When she lifted her gaze to look at them, she saw Merikh frowning, his eyes on her burnt fingers. Azalea was also a little bewildered, knowing it must be painful, especially because she was human.
