Delaney wasn't impatient with Xander's answer to her question because she wasn't expecting to be told so easily in the first place. She just thought she should know what she was getting into.
After the third and fourth glass, Delaney's mind started turning hazy and she barely kept her eyes open. But Xander was still quite in good shape, despite having been drinking for the whole night.
"Do demons have mates as well?" Delaney queried, her hand resting under her chin.
"Yes." Xander answered, pushing his empty glass away from him.
"Where is your mate then?" Delaney slurred, earning a sigh from Xander. "I don't have a mate... yet." He said in a firm voice and Delaney wondered why he wasn't getting drunk when they had been drinking at the same pace. A comfortable silence settled between them and Delaney found it serene.
