Chapter 3 - Chapter 2: Cookies and Coronas

—Kinny—

The walk to Rusty's wasn't long, but the sharp winds were whipping around me and wasn't making it easy. I was almost completely frozen and my cheeks were more than likely a cherry red when I stepped into the rugged, biker bar. The heat wasn't much, but it was something, and the wind not slicing me in half was a plus.

I looked up to see that Rusty was already waving at me and beckoning me over. I nearly skipped over and placed the tub of cookies on the bar top. Then took my usual seat in the dead center of the bar top. when I set my bag on the floor, I noticed a new face on the opposite side of the bar. His face was covered by a mop of messy brown hair, but he had on a similar cut on that matches the other bikers that frequent here. The same as Rusty. The old fart was retired, but he still wore his every time he'd be working.

"Hey kiddo, how was your shift?" Rusty's voice boomed over the loud rock music. I merely smiled and shrugged my shoulder at him as I slipped my coat off. I wore my yellow work shirt and white apron under, like always, and took a ten out of the pocket. I carefully placed it next to the tub and Rusty smiled at me knowingly.

"Not too bad, just sucked at the end. I brought you cookies. They're chocolate chips, your favorite." I beamed up at him. He gave me a warm smile in return and popped open a Corona, setting it infront of me.

"Lord have mercy, you are gonna kill me little lady." Rusty's booming laugh echoed in my ears and I found myself laughing with him. "I can't possibly eat all these, Kin." He finally managed to squeeze out between wheezes.

"You don't have to eat them all at once you rusted nail." I pointed out to him with a smile. Rusty doesn't look at me, but at the guy across the bar. It looked like he mouthed something at Rusty and he shook his head.

"But these cookies are so good." He said as he rubbed his stomach playfully. I could only shake my head and close my eyes in response. When I opened them, I was shocked to see that the guy had gotten out of his seat and snatched a cookie from the tub. My mouth snapped open, and my eyes narrowed at the thief.

The Adonis like thief smirked at me, said not a single word, and walked back to his seat. Chocolate chips and all.
