Emerald Enclaves, City X
Emerald Enclaves was a closed gated community located in the center of City X with high security and privacy for its residents which made it a place where many wealthy families would like to reside.
Yun Family was one of the few families that lived in this gated community. In the dead of the night while everyone in the house was sleeping, on the top floor of Yun family's house, a room was still brightly lit.
It was a dark night as clouds hovered over the moon, and the weather turned gloomy. Howling winds accompanied the thunderbolts, and soon a storm surged and heavy rain began to pour out, but no matter how gloomy the weather outside was, a certain someone did not care as she was happily chatting with her audience in the live broadcast room.
In a room lit with a bright yellow neon sign that said 'dawn', alongside anime and game posters on the walls and a cabinet filled with plushies and figurines, Yun Qingcheng was sitting in front of two LED screens. She was wearing a furry onesie and headphones with cat ears. A dimple showed on the side of her face as she smiled while talking.
Yun Qingcheng was a VTuber on an online streaming platform that went by the name Dawn. Her virtual avatar had white furry cat ears, big blue eyes, and fangs. It showed all her facial expressions vividly, like turning its eyes around or making an o-shaped mouth when she made such actions. Even mouthed all her words as she talked.
"I would choose Genshin Impact because it has a huge map."
A sweet childlike voice resounded in the silent room. This voice coupled with the cute avatar brought out a kawaii effect to the people watching. This was one of the reasons why people came to Dawn's broadcast room and the other reason was the various quirky topics she brought out to discuss with them.
"And it would be even better if I could choose which character I could be." As she said this the live chat started flowing with replies.
[Yeah, it would be great if I could be Alhaitham then I won't have to worry about my beer belly hehehe]
[No matter which character I choose to be, it would be better than what I look like now.]
[I would like to be a Hilichurl, it would be nice to just sleep and eat all day without any care.]
[If I transmigrate into Genshin Impact, Will I get to eat Paimon?]
[Hey, I am new here, what are you guys talking about?]
Yun Qingcheng who was scrolling through the chat replied,
"We were talking about 'if You could transmigrate into games, which game would you like to transmigrate into and why.' I think it would be nice to transmigrate into Genshin Impact because it has a huge map so I get to travel across many countries in it."
[I would like to be in GTA V, then I could commit all the crimes I want and not care about going to jail.]
[User upstairs, you seem to be developing very crooked thoughts there.]
[I would like to be in Sims, I can get married in there, have kids and not even care about them.]
[Now that I think about it, Sims is indeed the best game to transmigrate into after all you can live a much better life there. You can easily get a job and even if you are unemployed you could just earn by having a hobby.]
Yun Qingcheng who was reading all the replies thought, it was time to end the stream so she should remind these poor people about the harsh reality before going offline.
"No matter how fun it is to think about these things, let's come back to reality now, no matter how much good virtual life in a game is, we still live in a world where things like getting married and being employed are still going to be extremely difficult for you to achieve."
[How did you guess I am still single?]
[*sighs* Another day of fantasizing about things that will never happen.]
[Did we just get mocked for being single and unemployed?]
"We will end our stream here today. I have put up a poll on my social media page on what topics you guys would like to talk about in the next stream, so don't forget to vote. Bye-bye, see you all next time."
After ending the live stream Yun Qingcheng felt a little hungry so she went downstairs to grab a bite. As she was rummaging through the fridge someone came from behind and patted her shoulder. She gasped in shock and turned to see her brother standing behind her.
Yun Qingxin was two years older than Yun Qingcheng. They both looked a lot similar to each other. They both had pairs of peach blossom eyes, straight noses, and high cheekbones. If not for differences in height and body structure they might even be mistaken for each other.
"Brother, you scared me!"
"What are you doing?" Yun Qingxin asked her softly.
"I was feeling hungry so I came to see if there were some leftovers in the fridge."
"Go sit outside I will make something to eat."
"You are the best brother ever."
Yun Qingcheng excitedly ran outside to wait for food. Her brother's cooking was quite delicious but he didn't cook often.
Yun Qingxin quickly cooked some noodles for both of them and brought them outside, while they were eating he asked,
"You were live streaming?"
"Mmhm" she nodded with her mouth filled with food, looking cute like a hamster.
"I can't understand why you would want to talk about those weird topics with strangers online."
She replied with a cheeky smile on her face,
"Doesn't everyone only talk about weird topics with random strangers, online? If they did it offline they might end up getting beaten up."
No matter what others thought she found it interesting to read all the replies people could come up with for various topics.
Yun Qingxin looked at his sister silently for a long time then finally sighed and said,
"Why don't you go out and make some friends? There will be a gathering soon come with me there."
His sister was already 23 and still didn't have any friends. He was really worried about her social life.
"Brother you know how I am, I don't like these gatherings. I rather stay at home."
"I understand that you have a social phobia but you should at least try to meet some people, it might be a little helpful."
"I don't have any phobia, I'm just too lazy to go out." She said indignantly.
No matter how many times Yun Qingxin has tried to persuade her, Yun Qingcheng will always try to argue her way through it. He was truly helpless towards his stubborn sister who was not ready to accept the fact that she was following a very unhealthy lifestyle.
"Alright, you're just lazy. It's getting late go back to sleep after you've finished eating."
After cleaning up the bowls, they turned the lights off and went back to their respective rooms to sleep.
While Yun Qingcheng was having sweet dreams in her sleep, what she did not know was that on this weekend, her destiny was about to be rewritten.
